Good work with the widgets,

I like the stat lines in with the pitcher profiles.

I like that

Buscher is getting another opportunity to hit today, even though Crede is still in the lineup at third.

It leaves both Gomez and Young on the bench, but right now that might be the best option. This team needs Joe Mauer back….

by Jesse on Apr 17, 2009 8:08 PM EDT reply actions

Buscher deserves the start

and if there was a night to sit Gomez, it’s with Blackburn on the hill. Yep, we need Mauer back.

Maicer Izturis batting 3rd?

Can’t say I agree with that one. Of course, that means he’s getting 6 hits tonight…

by Adam Peterson on Apr 17, 2009 8:14 PM EDT reply actions

Love it!

And I have to leave it at that tonight. I don’t want to get drawn into this one, because I will. Must get up for work in the morning….

NITE ALL.

WIN TWINS!!!

I'm not mad at Crain on that one

the way they’ve played they should have to battle to get a W, it’s not over it

by caluofmn on Apr 17, 2009 10:21 PM EDT up reply actions

I'm not mad at him either...

Just saying this is what he is. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Jesse Crain has NO out pitch. Fastball’s too straight, breaking ball is too flat. He just doesn’t miss any bats, and that is the #1 requirement of a late-inning relief man.

Great

Great, so if we’d held them down a little, we’d be cooking, but now, we need so friggin much…

The team can say whatever it wants after this one...

but we designated Humber and claimed a bullpen guy off waivers from the ROCKIES!!!

You know the Rockies…the team that has been looking for pitching since…since…well…ever. Their bullpen has been just as shaky as ours this year, and they designated this guy, and we claimed him.

That’s how desperate we are for a late-inning power arm. Taking a flyer on a dude that basically can’t throw strikes. Welcome to the party Bill Smith!!! Too bad you couldn’t have joined us 5 months ago when pretty much everyone else saw this coming.

I just looked him up for the 1st time this year...

Juan Cruz:

3G, 5IP, 1H, 0BB, 3K, 1-0 record, 0.00 ERA, 0.20 WHIP

I’d say he would have helped quite a bit!!!

But we didn't want to give up a 2nd round pick...

that probably has a 20% chance of ever making the Big Leagues…

(Isn’t that what KC ended up giving for him)

Damn shame Crain and Guerrier gave away so many cheapies last inning. Gardy better bring in Joe for the 9th…no matter what the score is .

Reminiscent

of his walk off grand slam in the 12th or 13th inning against Boston back in 06. I remember thinking at the time “well that’ll be the highlight of this season” Great pick me up for a young season that needed it.

If you had to pick any game to skip...

This game should’ve been at the very bottom of your list.

Sorry, that probably doesn’t make you feel any better…
