Baker making the Sox look good in the first
three two out hits, 1 HR, 2 R, 1 2B
The only stat that counts is W
Stupid 800-year-old park
The way Gordo and Morris are describing it, Youk’s homer was completely a product of the Pesky Pole.

Baker getting lit up
He seems to have no breaking ball today. ANd the ump isn’t helping. Everything at the knees is called a ball.
"You're thinking too much. Just have fun." -- Bennie "The Jet" Rodriguez in Sandlot
Pair of two run homers early in the game...
Baker truly is our new Brad Radke.
"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"
I dont ever recall Radke
giving up a pair of 2 run homers. Maybe one two run homer but Radke always hung in there and usually gave up 3-4 runs…but never what Baker is on line to give up, which is 7-8 runs.
This is why Slowey is the v. 2 of Radke, because Slowey gives up homers every now and then, but manages to limit the damage and battles.
Almost every game I ever went to...
when Radke was pitching. He gave up a pair of two run homers in the first few innings, then settled down and pitched 7.
"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"
If he is Radke v 2.0...
He’ll probably give up 0 or 1 run from here on out, pitch 7 innings, we’ll lose, and Gardy will gush about how he “battled his tail off.”
"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"
Looks like...
I was being too optimistic. Baker is getting shelled. Even their outs are hit hard as hell…
"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"
There's a web gem...
Nice catch Cuddy!!!
"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"
Is Baker healthy?
or is he not keeping the ball down? (I know some people hate that phrase, but its probably true)
It's not necessarily that he's up...
though that is part of it. He’s just leaving a lot of meatballs right over the middle of the plate.
"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"
As I texted to Jesse earlier
Scott Baker sucks balls.

Good one Dick
He just said “Baker is 1-0 when the Twins score 20 runs.”
The only stat that counts is W
just tuned in . . .
It looks like Baker just can’t hit his spots at all. The gloves down and away he throws it in and high. I’m surprised he’s only had 1 walk so far. Luckily we know control isn’t an issue he usually has, it will come around soon I’m sure.
Peyton's good but have you ever heard of Jeff George?
Un-f*@$ing believable...
Bases loaded…wild pitcher on the mound…and Kubes and Cuddyer go up there hacking at everything. Poor approach in that situation…
"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"
Huh
6-1 in the top of 7. Quiet around here.

So can we send Baker back to Florida or something?
I think he must still be working on stuff, but he’s not worried about the HRs he’s allowing…
We need a nickname for Morillo...
“Wild Thing” is way too cliche. Any thoughts?
"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"
Morillo,
Just another addition to our bullpen of arsonists…

So far...
Cmath did a good job of pumping us up with a little optimism by pointing out that we do have some good options in the minors, but until then, I suspect youall might be seeing a lot of this image in the next couple of months.

Gotta love the pyromaniac auto-gynophelic transvestite.

Game stoppage...
Is this a rain delay, or did the ump call the mercy rule?
"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"
Ha ha
Did anyone hear the RBI Baseball music in the background?
I hope the Red Sox don’t remember to bring Armas off the bench next game; then we’re really screwed.

Can all this bullpen mayhem
really be put on the arm of Sideshow Pat?
and why again did the Twins not sign Cruz? Oh that’s right, Cruz, Ayalla, what’s the difference
WHAT?
Why bother with the rain delay? Call the game. This one’s over.

Cancellation
Do the stats for the 7th inning get wiped out in the event of a called game, since the inning wasn’t completed? Morillo’s gotta be rooting for that – he’s going to need a month of perfect innings to clean up his ERA after this debacle.

if they dont finish the inning...
I dont think they count
Looks like they count
I also thought that the 7th wouldn’t officially count, but every news outlet (including the Twins’ official site) is reporting it as a 10-1 game, so it looks like the 7th is actually in the books. Morillo now has an ERA of 36, and somewhere Philip Humber is banging his head against a wall repeatedly.
