Delmon Young Comp-
Watching the Phillies v. Braves game, I couldn’t help but draw some similarities between Delmon Young and Garret Anderson. Obviously, Anderson is a lefty and Young is a righty, but besides that there are similarities. Both hit for good average, neither take walks, they have similar body types, and both are durable (knock on wood).
I could go through a bunch of stats that illustrate the comparison, but I just want to point out one thing very promising for Twins fans.
In Anderson’s first three seasons of major league ball (with 150+ games), he averaged 12 home runs, his next three, he averaged 28 home runs. His average stayed the same, and so did his doubles numbers.
Granted, Anderson’s first year (of 150+ games) was at age 24, and Young’s was at age 21.
Moral of the story, it’s easy to see Young’s best home run power still around the corner, even if it doesn’t come this season.
Seriously, three the first time through the order? That was crazy…

That's what you get when you leave fastballs on the belt
"You can't sit on a lead and run a few plays into the line and just kill the clock. You've got to throw the ball over the damn plate and give the other man his chance. That's why baseball is the greatest game of them all."
