Return of the Jedi
Or: Joe Mauer Returns
It certainly seems like Joe Mauer is picking up right where he left off. Shoe-string contact turning into a base hit; reading the pitcher like a book; superior control of the strike zone. Yes, it's all there.
Minnesota's offense got it's best hitter back for the weekend's series, and while the games didn't turn out as winningly (it's a word) as one may have hoped, Joe had a good weekend at the plate.

Bah!
He’s not even OPS-ing 2.000! Joe, you really think we’ll stand for our Golden Boy putting up a measly 1.927 OPS?
Also, what’s with the lack of power? Seriously, less than half of his hits have been for extra bases, and he has now gone without a homer for ten consecutive plate appearances.
I say we move him to third base to rest his knees.

Unbelievable comments,
because you forgot to mention that he was too lazy to learn how to catch RA Dickey’s knuckleball during Spring training. Gardenhire should send him down to the minors for awhile until he learns how to play the “Twin’s” way and gets all of that attitude under control.

What up with the FOs? Those should be homers. I just don't get what all the fuss is about

Somewhat OT
Crain was activated and Morales sent to Rochester.
If Redmond wasn’t under contract, I’d be perfectly happy with Morales as the backup catcher, and I hope he gets that role next season. He should be a good average, low power, low walk, high contact guy (not unlike Redmond). A switch hitting backup catcher is a nice thing to have.

And
And as Gardy told Joe Christensen, Morales has some defensive things he could stand to improve as well. Morales has a good job waiting for him for several years here, that’s a pretty good situation for him. My Dad always said being a backup catcher was one of the best jobs in sports because you’re making ML money, you’re staying in ML hotels and hanging out with ML players (and women), and you only really do much like 2 days a week.

Especially if,
you are not using “switch hitting backup” and naked batting practice all in the same reference
