Know Thine Enemy Let's Go Tribe:
Starting Pitchers
Huff is a lefty who obviously has struggled since getting called up in the middle of May. He was not pitching all that great in AAA when he got called up, either (4.38 FIP). Twins hitters have feasted off lefties this year, Particularly Justin Morneau (1.265 OPS), Joe Mauer (.953), and Denard Span (.956). On the other hand, after the top 3 hitters, Twins hitters have struggled against lefties. So look for a good first inning as the Twins return to their favorite place to hit.
Kevin Slowey had a very good month of May, going 4-0 with five quality starts out of his six starts. He faces a Cleveland line-up that is missing it's lead-off hitter and toughest out in Grady Sizemore but is still dangerous. The two Indians hitters in today's lineup with OPS numbers above 800 all hit from the left side (Victor Martinez and Shin-soo Choo). Slowey has a .911 OPS against with lefties inthe box. So the middle of this order could do some damage.

yeah, mixed bag though?
wasn’t listening closely as I am working too, but 2 strikes, 2 hits, 20 pitches – mixed results.

Casilla, Span
thats the type of 9th slot into the top of the order that seems to work. In other words it might make sense to keep Casilla at #9 and Mauer at #2.
Now with Span at 2nd, and Mauer up
Huff is gotta be a little nervous…

don't tell my wife....
I think I am in love with another man. I love you Joe Mauer!!!
Founding member of the Dick Jauron Fan Club.
100 pitches in 6.2 IP
probably greedy on my part but I would like to see the starters make it through the 7th more often.

if Shop didnt get a (I will quote Hawk) duckquirt of a double.
and if Span actually busted his butt off to get to that ball instead of Morny and Casilla having to bust their butts off to try and catch that while Span became a fan and spectator.
Why are these Cleveland players so brittle?
Is it the evilness?

Don't worry. Crain's warming up in the pen.
The strategy here: Let the Cleveland batters salivate at the prospect of facing Crain, while Mijares stays in the game.
What has Mijares suddenly morphed into Eddie Guardado?!

Seriously,
That’s Mijares on the left, watching video of Guardado at work…

OK.
I need to no the real story behind this photograph. Are those VR helmets or spaghetti strainers? Or are they auditioning to be the orb-doctor-bot in Star Wars?
too bad we didn't sign
Russ Springer or Michael Wuertz in the offseason, both currently with the Oakland A’s
Also trading for Juan Cruz or Edwin Jackson would have been really nice.
(Delmon Young for Edwin Jackson and a minor leaguer would have been OK by me at the time and right now)

Delmon Young for Edwin Jackson
would’ve been cosmically hilarious.
well at the time
Edwin Jackson was a horrible pitcher it seemed. Consistently leaving the ball up in the zone and it would have seemed that TB would once again have robbed us.
Question.....
How many Times this season will Bert say…
“again, its not where it (the ball) is caught by the catcher its where it crosses the plate.”

Over/under?
More or less times than he says, “at the Major League level”?
More or less times than Ron Coomer says, “to me”?
He left a pitch up
and he did not miss it

Doesn't matter
We’re guaranteed to hear it 10 times a night at least

Way to stay out of the DP Delmon
You’ve only made three outs in three PAs rather than four. Way to go!

Gordo said during DY's AB that
“the Twins would love to get Buscher up with a runner in scoring position…” why??? I would rather have Gomez or Casilla at the plate with a runner in scoring position cause they at least may get a hit (infield single). Buscher looks a lot like Punto this year.
Buscher is pathetic this year
He clearly needs to hit everyday to be effective. But if that happens, the Twins are in trouble.
