Joel Zumaya Recovering From Active List

Finally returning to the disabled list, which has missed his presence since late April, teammate Eric Chavez said "We're just not the same without Joel. Hopefully he can stick with us for awhile before becoming active again."

I've just finished reading The Wrong Stuff
by Bill Lee, the former Boston and Montreal pitcher from the 60’s and 70’s. He goes into some depth about the stuff that was available to them, although it sounds like it was more about deadening the arm to avoid the pain than something that allows the muscles to regenerate faster.
Lost me there
Quite a jump from the ’60s and ’70s to the ’90s and ’00s.
There are some who suggest players used steroids in the ‘50s and ’60s. There’s no doubt in my mind pitchers used them in recent years to recover from injuries.
