Window Closing On Sanchez?
Hat tip to dctwin, who brought this Jon Heyman Twitter update to my attention: it sounds like the Giants could be circling Sanchez in serious trade discussions.

Yeah, I can see how a change of scenery might help Anderson. But Kotsay’s pretty much washed up. At least Anderson got his wish, maybe the Sox were just willing to do that. Kotsay provides nothing at this point.

since i was under the impression that the white sox prefer their players to be old, hobbled and past their prime.
and yet they stand a game ahead of the Twins in the standings

Call me crazy...
But I like a Scutaro/Downs trade better anyway. I just wish the Halladay epic would wind down so we can deal with the Jays. If nothing else, it would help our bargaining position with the Pirates to have another viable option out there.

Dejan Kovacevic, reporter for the Pittsburgh Post Gazette says, among other updates, that the Twins are still in it, though talks have been ongoing with the Giants:
Neither Wilson nor Sanchez in the Pirates' lineup tonight
Though Sanchez is banged up, so his absence may well be injury related. Wilson, not so much… If nothing else, it is further fuel for the Tuesday evening fire.
