LEN III at the Strib: Liriano scratched, Duensing to start
Due to swelling in his forearm. (If you're feeling cynical, you could also suggest that it's trade-deadline-related swelling.) UPDATE: LEN III has now confirmed this. Brian Duensing will start.

Could it be that he will be shipped?
Because a "change of scenery" will do him some good?
I doubt it, after all he is the Franchise!
I don't think so either.
I think Liriano has a bright future as a set up man or possible closer. I think he can be more free to throw the ball the way he used to if he only needs to do so for 12-20 pitches every couple of nights.

true
if he doesn’t have to worry about going 6 innings he could throw that slider until the cows come home.
Just need another starter to take his place and he would need to accept that the move is best for his career. That’s going to be the hard part.

LEN3 said either Dickey or Duensing

Probably Duensing

If we can DIckey up a sweep
It will be extra-demoralizing to the White Sox.

And extra-awesome for us.
Duensing’ing up a sweep isn’t bad, either.
Strikeouts are boring - besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls. More democratic. -Bull Durham
