I dont get that
D Ryan is batting a paltry .167…its like giving up a walk to Tolbert! he should have just thrown it right over the plate and let him hit it….
Yup.
That’s 40 pitches through two innings. The four K’s look good, but TODAY, of ALL DAYS, the Twins need Liriano to go as long as humanely possible. He won’t last at 20 shots per inning.
Adam Everett looks so kid-like in his Tigers uniform...
…aw, he’s all growed up now! Cute little Ad-Rock Everett!
Okay, heads up guys...4-pitch walk by Edwin Jackson and his rogue fastball.
Let’s see if the Twins can take the obivous hint that Jackson’s hit-and-miss control is currently miss, and take a few pitches this inning.
Morales: K'd
Looks like Jackson’s brief bout with uncontrol is over. Sorry Cuddles, looks like you’ll be stranded here.
WHAT A PLAY BY BUSCHER AT THIRD!!
Dives to his right to snag a sharp liner for an out. He was completely horizontal making that play!
CUDDY!

bounced off the top of the wall
that’s what I think Mauer’s would have done yesterday with no fielder
tbh
Twins should look into upgrading our roster in the spot that Butcher holds. He’s pretty bad this year with the bat.
But, we know the Twins and their aversion to making the team better…
good plan

I really like
Mark Grace’s commentary. It’s refreshing to hear it with Dick instead of Bert’s blabbering. :)

I like Bert

interesting
Never had that on pizza before.

If Everett
If he had performed for the Twins as well as has for the Tigers, the Twins would have won the Central last year and Everett would be starting at short for the Twins this year.

I've been not trying to mention it
Just in case.
Favorite Comedians: Mike Birbiglia, Doug Benson, Daniel Tosh, Delmon Young in Left Field.
doh
Guerrier only had 19 pitches yesterday, so he’ll be the guy (Keppel had 14, so he’s ok to go probably)
Liriano: 90 pitches thru six.
With all the bullpen used last night, even at this count I have to believe he’ll come out for the 7th. He pretty much has to. If he can keep it to a two-inning night for the ‘pen, that’d be amazing.
Amazing on top of not allowing a run.
Meche can go 120
Liriano can go 120 :)
Favorite Comedians: Mike Birbiglia, Doug Benson, Daniel Tosh, Delmon Young in Left Field.
Liriano
If we go through the rotation with Swarzak taking Slowey’s spot, Liriano wouldn’t pitch again until next Friday…I think he can go over 100 a bit.
Favorite Comedians: Mike Birbiglia, Doug Benson, Daniel Tosh, Delmon Young in Left Field.
with the day off
aren’t they going to skip slowey’s spot? that’s what it sounded like with Swarzak in temporary relief duty
Ahh..I guess I didn’t read anything in depth, I was just aware of the move.
That’s unfortunate, I think Swarzak deserves another start.
Favorite Comedians: Mike Birbiglia, Doug Benson, Daniel Tosh, Delmon Young in Left Field.
looking at the schedule
he’ll probably get the start on Sat. the 11th vs CHI, saving Baker from pitching on 3 days rest…
Redmond has become the Mark Madsen of the Twins.
Favorite Comedians: Mike Birbiglia, Doug Benson, Daniel Tosh, Delmon Young in Left Field.
Is Morales good enough to start for another team?
He could be trade bait. Mauer isn’t going anywhere.
Morales doesn't have the defensive rep
that teams like, and his minor league numbers offensively aren’t impressive either. With Redmond’s age, Morales is of more value to us than as trade bait. Young, more projectible catchers would be more lkely to be dealt right now.

awwwwwww
SERIOUSLY?
Favorite Comedians: Mike Birbiglia, Doug Benson, Daniel Tosh, Delmon Young in Left Field.
no
he’s pitched fine. he’ll go 7 and give up 3 ER
One of those common games where the Twins bats get 1-3 runs and then fall asleep if they have the lead. Bats need to pick him up better than this.
Very "Twins"
Can’t tell you how many times we’ve grabbed a 1-2 run lead in the 4th or 5th and then the bats give up for the rest of the night. Then we blame Gardy/Starter/Pen if the lead gets blown.
That sucks.
Kinda feel bad for Liriano right now. He’s pitched SO WELL tonight. His offense needs to pick him up.
7 IP and 3 ER
Is a fantastic game nonetheless.
If we just had a few more runs, we’d be praising him.
Favorite Comedians: Mike Birbiglia, Doug Benson, Daniel Tosh, Delmon Young in Left Field.
I don't think that's really accurate.
The bullpen is washed, and there’s no excuse for Liriano to NOT get one more out. After giving up that HR, it was the best managerial decision he could make to leave him in. Plus, it lets Liriano finish on a positive note.
Fair enough.
Yeah, Lizzy still can get the W here if the offense decides to show up. A bloop and (another) blast would be helpful.
Plus
He was facing Granderson, who has had no luck vs. Frankie in his career.

Tiger bullpen also shot...
Jackson’s pitch count is 112 and they used more pitchers (8) than we did last night.
Time for the bats to feast on some tired arms.
Lead off walk

I would keep Jackson in as well, despite what happens. The kid can go.

Setting it up for a Morneau Triple...??
I HOPE SO.
Favorite Comedians: Mike Birbiglia, Doug Benson, Daniel Tosh, Delmon Young in Left Field.
triple first...
No cycle speculation allowed until the triple is out of the way. :) I know Cuddy got the triple last earlier this year, but that’s the exception.

Squeaker by Kubel, nice play by Polanco, turning to get Justin at second.
First and third, two outs. Need another hit right here.

took our jerrrr
Favorite Comedians: Mike Birbiglia, Doug Benson, Daniel Tosh, Delmon Young in Left Field.
Justin having a tough time on the bases lately
instead of sprinting or jumping over the ball, he stopped til it went past him, costing us an out on a bang bang play
he is 7 feet tall and the opposite of nimble.
Favorite Comedians: Mike Birbiglia, Doug Benson, Daniel Tosh, Delmon Young in Left Field.
I think that was planned.
I think he was trying to get in the way of the defender’s view of the ball.
This series has been so nerve racking.
If we don’t win this game I will be pretty upset.
Lets Geau Morno!
Guerrier in
Favorite Comedians: Mike Birbiglia, Doug Benson, Daniel Tosh, Delmon Young in Left Field.
I sure hope we don't get to Dickey today
that would be bad for us
probably have to get to the 12th for that to happen imo
Was Dickey the last guy left last night?
I didn’t watch the entire game, I just saw he gave up NINE hits in 3 innings.
Favorite Comedians: Mike Birbiglia, Doug Benson, Daniel Tosh, Delmon Young in Left Field.
Twelve pitches.
He should, but it depends on how he feels I imagine. Using bullpen arms two days in a row is sort of a social more in today’s baseball world.
Tolbert is in
So it’s probably for sure that Punto will be hit for

dives on the outside of the dish around the tag and he’s SAFE!!!

A shame we didn't have the lead the entire game.
Liriano pitched like a game winning pitcher, 5 hits and 2 walks with that one blemish of a homerun with 2 on.
