And the Twins are back at .500
For the 10th time in their last 30 games. It's starting to look like this isn't a very good ballclub. Taking solace in an allegedly weak division doesn't change that.
This team hasn't got much personality, and working the robotic Delmon into the lineup isn't going to change it. I'm starting to think that Gardy was right last year when he said playing Gomez gave this bunch some spark.

The Gomez issue
“I’m starting to think that Gardy was right last year when he said playing Gomez gave this bunch some spark”
…Then maybe Gardy should actually play him every day. :\ He is a good fielder, needs some work at the plate, but he can’t get better if he’s not in the game.
The Twins being a seemingly constant .500 team is mostly frustrating because they can actually play well. They took road series from a few #1 division teams, yet continue to beat themselves. The talent is there (a line up with the M&M boys, and Kubel DH’ing after can be quite the threat), they just need that spark back.
Hopefully this is a short slump and they can bounce back against the Sox this weekend.
Strikeouts are boring - besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls. More democratic. -Bull Durham

How much reaffirming do we need?
Tonight Delmon’s high throw to the cut-off man Harris assured there would be no play at the plate, and it was another abysmal night swinging the stick.
In his third AB – and I’m sitting a few rows back behind the Sox dugout – I figure it’s time for everyone in the area to pay attention because I’m certain he’ll launch at least one foul ball our way because he won’t be able to get around on the fastball. He launched two, but neither were of the searing variety. His bat was sooooooo slow that the balls just arched high and spiraled way down the line and many rows back into the seats. It’s torture to watch Skates play.
