Twins sign Clay Condrey
Keppel on his way to Japan. This looks like the "big news" we've been waiting for since Keppel's release.

just another Vet
for Gardy to give a shot to. Sorry Delaney,Duensing,Burnett,Loek Van Mil, you’ll all have to wait for him to blow some games to get your shot. Like Velencia, you guys aren’t ready yet. We’ll see who’s on the roster in Sept. Non Tendered by the Phills. The Twins site list him on the 40 man roster. Does that end FA signing?
Clay...
Not a bad signing. Why not have too much pitching? Maybe the Twins will feel good enough about their pitching now not to go after Washburn.

Phineas and Ferb
especially
if they turn around and trade soem of that pitching depth away, imean what do we have a ton of…..? long relievers or spot starters, so why not get abother, condrey however doesn’t fit the latter but plenty of guys do though, so now maybe a signing of the WASH or/and a trade for uggla, or some infield option(I HOPE!!!)

It's a bad signing
in the scence that it duplication. Just another so-so pitcher. Is the guy good enough to be on the 40 man roster? Will he start the year at rochester? We need to sign Players who fill holes or can start, he does neither.
I feel better
About AKeppelypse NOW! now Keppel now.

He can endorse fast food in Japan.
And are we still trying for Washburn or does this end that deal?

I hope so...
Maybe the Washburn thing was just a cruel joke.

Major league deal?
If it’s only a minor league deal, I wouldn’t have any objection. Not sure about consuming a roster spot for him, though.

On the plus side,
he’s a ground-ball pitcher. Not knowing how Killebrew Field will play, he might come in handy.
i think
this means that someone is leaving like crain or maybe nathan but i doubt it or neshek isnt going to be ready opening day
Interesting reaction.
It could be a pre-cursor to another move. I doubt Nathan goes anywhere, and I’m pretty sure Neshek will be fine because he’s been throwing for a couple of months now. Crain wouldn’t surprise me, and neither would Guerrier.
The Twins needed a mop-up guy.
He’s not a bad mop-up guy.

Why, though?
Do you need to pay free agent money for a mop-up guy? If you need a mop-up guy, why not just pick someone on your AAA team who you’d like to reward with an MLB paycheck?

He is signed to a contract just above the minimum
That’s not much more than Delaney or Manship would make. And he has an option, so they can send him down if Delaney or Manship beat him out of that job.

wow what a steal!! (sarcasm)
Must be saving the big bucks for Joe, right

Okay
Then I’m fine with it. From looking at Condrey’s numbers, he’s probably a marginal upgrade over the other options anyway.

The main thing about the Condrey signing is that it provides an opportunity for the Twins to take it much slower with Pat Neshek. Now they have some insurance should Neshek need some more time to get back to the big league roster.
