Joe Mauer finished 8th in the MVP voting. Delmon Young was 10th. Jim Thome picked up two 10th place votes to finish 18th. Josh Hamilton wins MVP. Some unusual players received votes - see after the jump.

Joakim Soria got a vote. Paul Konerko somehow placed 5th ahead of Evan Longoria. Konerko had a good year but apparently people haven't realized that Longoria is a 3B with a great glove. According to WAR Longoria was 1st and Konerko didn't provide as much value as Justin Morneau. Longoria was a key player on a playoff team and deserved at least a few 1st place votes. Only Hamilton, Cabrera and Bautista received 1st place votes.
