With the selection of Angel Morales as our tenth ranked prospect, our Top 10 is now complete. Morales collected 143 of the 350 votes cast (40%) with David Bromberg a distant second and Carlos Guterrez only a few votes back in third.
That means our Top Ten for 2011 is: 1) Kyle Gibson, 2) Aaron Hicks, 3) Miguel Sano, 4) Ben Revere, 5) Alex Wimmers, 6) Joe Benson, 7) Oswaldo Arcia, 8) Liam Hendriks, 9) Max Kepler-Rozycki, and 10) Angel Morales. To me that looks better than last year's Top 10, especially the second five.
Only Kane Holbrooks collected less than two percent and it was his first time included so we will only add one player to the next round. We had six outfielders in the Top 10 and the outfielder added to Round 11 may some day be as good or better than all of them. Eddie Rosario was drafted in the fourth round last year out of Puerto Rico. He led the Gulf Coast League in stolen bases (22), while scoring the fifth most runs (34), tying for the eighth most home runs (5), and having the tenth best batting average (.294) and slugging percentage (.438). Rosario also led the GCL Twins in all of those categories as well as triples and tying for the team lead in runs batted in.
