AAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Thread
The dumbest move of all time went down. Hardy traded for A-ball reliever prospects (pending physicals, naturally). Just a salary dump. (or was it?) Felt like posting this as a fanshot to blow off my frustration of this move and to get a thread started to blow off all of our collective frustrations. The title is merely an illustration of my enormous frustration over the stupidity of this trade. I can't help but feel this trade was made to appease Gardy, but thinly disguised as a salary dump. Commence your complaints in the comments thread here!

Hey, guys, remember that time that the Twins got a new stadium so they wouldn't have to make salary dump trades?
Yeah, that was awesome… FOR ONE STUPID YEAR.

Sadly, Harris would have had a very different career to date had Gardy not hated him so. It will be interesting to see how he does given an opportunity to play.
JJ Hardy is arguably the best SS in the AL. To let him go for two guys who will likely never play in the major leagues again is very difficult to understand. Either their are some personal issues or clubhouse issues with the guy, or this is just a very poor idea.
I like Casilla. Just don’t see any wisdom in this trade.

Don't just blame Gardy

He also would’ve had a very different career to date had he not .157 last year.

6 Degree's of Kevin Bacon - - Johan Santana
Rule 5 Draft leads to Johan, Johan leads to Carlos Gomez, Gomez leads to JJ, JJ leads to Brett Jacobson. I am so excited for the 2011 winter meetings when we get to see what we will be getting next! Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. His name is Billy Smith and he brings all the good boy and girl Twins fan a new prospect for Johan Santana every year.
SB Nation had Brett Jacobson as Detroit’s #3 prospect heading into 2009. Here is what he did in 2009. I haven’t heard much about what scouts thought of him in 2010…

3) Brett Jacobson, RHP, Grade B-: 3.74 ERA with 44/17 K/BB in 55 innings for Class A Lakeland. Traded to Orioles.
