Felipe Lopez fires Scott Boras
I know a lot of people were weighing Lopez v. Hudson, and many felt that Lopez was a slightly better fit. Now that Lopez has fired Boras, does anyone wish we'd held off just a bit and could have landed Lopez instead? Or do you think that the signing of Hudson was part of what triggered Lopez to ditch Boras?
I'm perfectly happy with Hudson, but if Lopez could have been had for a little less money, or for a comparable two-year deal, I may have been happier.

Boras......
He tries ahrd to get top buck. But what happens when he doesn’t. Lopez. Where’s Crede? What will the end result of Johnny Damon be?

Lopez = 3B?
I geuss its unrealistic to assume that the Twins will spend any more money unless its on Joe Mauer.
Lopez
I personally liked him better than Hudson. Actually, I liked Jose better too, but to be quite honest, I’m just happy we got one of them, as whomever we ended up with was going to be a huge upgrade.
Firing Boras is interesting…. My guess is that he had an offer earlier in the year that Boras convinced him to turn down (kind of like Washburn did with us), and now no offers are there, he’ll sign somewhere for peanuts (kind of like what will happen to Washburn). He wouldn’t be a bad fit as a 3B here, but something tells me we are done, and the way this offseason has gone, I’d be fine with that.

I think you are right
but if it is for peanuts, the Twins should still consider it.
We have the BEST ball park peanuts

Realistically,
he’s more of an emergency third baseman. No innings there last year, only 85 innings there in ‘08. 207 innings in ’04 and 415 innings in ’01 are the only times he’s really spent any time at third, and even they constitute “small sample size theatre”. I’d be surprised if something like this was even on the Twins’ radar.
