Another call for fantasy baseball players

I have two slots for 12 team mix league through Yahoo sports.

Star-divide

The scoring categories for this league are:

Offense – R, H, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OPS, TB

Pitching – IP, W, SV, HR, K, ERA, QS, RW

Feel free to comment on the scoring categories even if you’re not interested in playing.

This is a league I’ve put together for a few years now. Lots of friendly trash talking and no hardcore stat geeks in the league. Players experience is all over from first time fantasy players to years in.

Pass along your email if you’re interested and I’ll send you the information to join.

not a fan of relief wins

This allows a closer to blow a save and pick up RW. They will then get credit for two wins, since they already get credit for the W category. In fact, I think Net Saves is a better category than saves. Net saves would bring down the value of someone like Fernando Rodney.

Also, isn’t total bases already calculated into OPS. By adding total bases you are making power hitters even that more dominate.

Just my thoughts, but its not my league. I would join, but I am in a pretty involved league and have too much going on to do two. Good Luck.

+1

Yahoo doesn’t offer any mock drafts but it’s the game I’ve played for awhile now. One day I got to try ESPN

by caluofmn on Mar 1, 2010 9:59 PM EST up reply actions

they do?

I’ m too much a creature of habit, I just noticed this year that I could create divisions for my league.

by caluofmn on Mar 1, 2010 10:44 PM EST up reply actions

yep

but you might need to be signed up for a league on yahoo to use the service. I have done leagues on ESPN and they were fine too. I am probably biased to yahoo as that is what i use with my friends. I have only done random public leagues on ESPN and people always lose interest. Basically, any site is fine as long as you play with the right people.

+ 100

I play the public leagues for basketball and this year hockey and overall they are fine but some years it’s more fun than others b/c people are into it. Otherwise you have the top 4 teams still trying to win the league and everyone else is just going through the motions

Yahoo is a superior site

The interface is much better than ESPN’s.
