Twins @ Rays
Happy St. Patty's Day and such. Perhaps the Twins will seize this opportunity to announce a shiny new contract extension for Mr. Joseph Patrick Mauer. Eh, probably not. Anywho, here are the lineups for today's 12:05 start, per Kelly Thesier:
Twins (5-7)
Denard Span, CF
Nick Punto, 3B
Jason Kubel, DH
Michael Cuddyer, RF
Delmon Young, LF
Wilson Ramos, C
Luke Hughes, 2B
Brock Peterson, 1B
Alexi Casilla, SS
Pitching: LHP Glen Perkins
Others scheduled to pitch: Jeff Manship, Jesse Crain, Anthony Swarzak, Kyle Waldrop, Alex Burnett, Anthony Slama, Rob DelaneyRays (10-3)
Sean Rodriguez, CF
Gabe Kapler, RF
Evan Longoria, 3B
Hank Blalock, DH
Kelly Shoppach, C
Justin Ruggiano, LF
Reid Brignac, 2B
Ryan Shealy, 1B
Elliot Johnson, LF
Pitching: RHP James Shields
Others scheduled to pitch: Rafael Soriano, Grant Balfour, Lance Cormier, Joaquin Benoit
The Twins could use a good outing from Perkins, who gets a turn in place of the ailing Nick Blackburn. Perkins has had a rather miserable spring thus far, which neither helps his trade value nor demonstrates that he is prepared to rebound from a rocky 2009 campaign and help the Twins in some way this year.

Mauer contract
The holdup is actually in the state legislature. They can’t get the votes on renaming Mower County.
Maybe
Joe should settle for a North Dakota County. I heard that the western 2/3 portion of Morton County is available. Plus, in our grand tradition of naming cities in other counties after a county name, we can change Devils Lake (the city) to Mauer or Tower City to Mauer City. We are saving Mandan for Stephen Colbert to change to Colbert when Stephen has a beef with North Dakota.
WHat's up with that?
I live in Faribault, the seat of Rice County, not Faribault county. Of course, the seat of Faribault County is Blue Earth. (The town of Rice is in Stearns County.) The seat of Blue Earth county is Mankato. It’s that way all over the state! What’s up with that?

I heard the contact hold up was on Mauer?
And his insistence that a pink cheek, big hipped virgin be brought to him every series. The Twins can only afford home games, we are not a big market team after all.
"I couldn't do that. Could you do that? Why can they do it? Who are those guys?"
Waldrop,Burnett,Slama,Delaney.
We’ll see if any get to pitch early in the game against the better hitters. Waldrop seems to be the one getting looked at. Burnett second. Slama, Delaney better have good years at Rochester for a Sept. call-up.
Broke down
and bought MLB Audio…already glad I did. This will be great at playoff time when I’m stuck at work.

The spring training games are on XM??
I thought their stupid email thing said they started with regular season! Dang.

Well Span's streak is over
He grounded out to second to start the game. And now he just got robbed of a hit in his second at-bat.
Now he's 0-for-3
and his BA is down to .500. What a bum!
Stupid work stuff.
Thinking I should actually be productive. Pfff.
Can’t lose 5 in a row, come on Twins.

By this time, in your world, yesterday's game should be almost over.
How’s it going? ;)

No longer slower than you! :)
You’re the lone slow one once again, montana. Sorry. :(

Haha yeah yeah.
Now that I’ve found it on XM, I’m all over this baseball business. No more spoiling for you people. :)
Life’s good….weather’s nice, it’s a holiday, and baseball’s on. Can’t ask for much more than that. You?

I'd feel worst if it was our AAA team out there.

Manship throws a wild pitch, Johnson scores.
3-1.

They were talking Delaney up too much.
Jinxed him.

Yeah, not so much.
5 losses in a row. Lame.

Oh well
Get the losing streaks out of the way now so come 4/6 we only have winning streaks left in the old bag of tricks.

The good news was that Punto batted 2nd.
Wait, did I say good news? I meant really lame news.
I always loved that one.
