You heard it here first. The huge white blank area above right field at Target Field will feature a giant ad for Mauer Chevrolet as part of his contract payment. There was no other signage for any automotive brands anywhere in the park that I could see, and have been hearing a lot of Mauer Chev ads lately (owned by Joe, run by Billy). This is a smart move by the Twins as it will allow non-cash value to the contract.

Okay. Just like the Twins and Marqueete Bank went hand-in-hand for awhile.

Kudos to Mauer Chevrolet to capitalize on the baseball fan. There’s not a lot of advertising money out there, in general, especially from car deaelrs.

The only killer to a Mauer Chev ad would be if Mauer was not a Twin.

Money does change hands, even in the most in-kind way.

If this is true, it makes ton of sense...

…We may eventually find out that Rosen and KFAN were both correct. If there are several items like this in the agreement, they can take awhile for lawyers to work thru the actual terms of provisions such as this. What is an exclusive (no other auto dealers allowed to advertise, including the half dozen the Pohlad family own) like this worth? A million a year, more? How long is it for , ten years or will it extend beyond the term of Joe’s contract. The lawyers gotta be happy with this deal!
