Knowing the general sense of entitlement many Yankees fans feel, I’m sure they’ll just start discussing which prospects they will have to give up to trade for Mauer when the Twins inevitably find they have overextended themselves with his contract.

And this is true.
But at the same time,they’re still trying to get a deal done. They’ll have some face-to-face discussions. I just want this to get done.
Joe Nathan's agent
showed up in training camp 1 week before his extension was signed. Hopefully, this is a good sign.
