any games on TV?

I thought I saw a list of games that were going to be televised but I can’t find it now.

Does anybody know if any of the spring training games will be on the MLB network or FSN?

thanks

Ready for the baseball season!

(ooh, and they already replayed the end of game 163. I’d sell my soul for an mp3 of that whole broadcast.)

Oh, wait, you mean the TBS broadcast.

Yeah, I own that one, and I’m happy to have it, but I get so sick of hearing that Rick Porcello is 20 years old. I wish I could get the mp3 of the radio broadcast with Dazzle and Gordo going hoarse.

That was quick!

That’s gotta feel good for him though. He made quick work of them and ended it with a K. Even threw a changeup! Haha.

How was Slowey

I missed that part of the game how did he do?

by Arnidor on Mar 4, 2010 9:03 PM EST reply actions

He had a little trouble hitting his spots.

Didn’t come back to bite him, but he needs a little work. Nothing surprising.

Pitchers

I was unable to listen, but it looks as if the first three pitchers did well. That is always encouraging.

Tonight's game

I’m in Ft Myers right now, was at the game and will be at the next two. It was pretty chilly for Southern FL – just a little over 50 degrees when the game started. Pretty good feel for what mid-early season games at Target will be like. Early April on the other hand – yikes.

For the first game of the spring, I thought they looked pretty good. Jacque looked like, well Jacque. Same smile, same free-swing. It was hard to tell what was being thrown from where we sat, but it looked like he had trouble catching up to the ball and was fouling stuff straight back.

It was awesome to see Neshek throwing. It’s been so long since I’ve seen him throw – it looked like he was more upright than normal. I can’t remember hearing about his delivery changing or if my mind was playing tricks on me. He looked comfortable, so I’ll take it.

We only had the Red Sox program and the stadium announcer/scoreboard was bad at keeping track of substitutions, so it was tough to tell who all the high numbers were. There was an almost highlight catch in right (Tosoni I think). A ball was hit to the gap and it glanced off the top of his glove.

I did pick out Ben Revere though – only because he still has that weird timing/tick thing where he claps his elbows. It didn’t seem as pronounced. Could have been the distance from our seats though. He had a good at bat, hit the ball well, but at someone.

All in all it was a good game. Again – cold. When I was in line for a polish, the concessionaire behind the counter said they couldn’t sell any more coffee and hot chocolate because they were out of cups. I thought there was going to be a riot. Take note Target Field staff – figure out a way to make at least these two hot drinks available via vendor. The people in the stands looked like they were willing to knock over children and grandmothers to get warm.

MAN it was NICE..

to hear baseball on the radio!

This brings me a kind of joy I know you all understand which is great because it’s impossible to explain.

I always loved that one.
