Blackburn signed to a 4 year deal

$14 million.

Not a ton of money, but I would not have done this.

Hopefully mlb.com carries the box for that game as well.

Duensing

just got banged around for 3 runs. 2 triples in Tosoni’s area. Anyone know if that was just bad luck or if he misplayed them?

by Twins4Life on Mar 7, 2010 1:50 PM EST reply actions

All I know is

that LaVelle keeps mentioning that Tosoni always misses the cutoff man. I guess he did it a couple times yesterday and is doing it today too.

I hate it when they have guests in the broadcast booth.

This is not an ad for Target field. This is a baseball game. Call the game damnit!

Mauer's batting btw

First time I’ve heard the count at 2-1.

I hate how the announcers

treat it like their own spring training/vacation too. They are getting payed the same so do the job the same (albeit not very well), like it’s the regular season.

I can go a full half inning sometimes and not hear the score, the outs, or who’s pitching during the regular season too.

Hardy with an rbi single against the Pirates

and a small amount of it came from guys who won’t be starters (Casilla & Butera).

Portes played 7 games in CF last year in New Britain

I don’t think he projects to play there at all in the majors but he’ll be a phone call away in Rochester if Span twists an ankle. :-)

by DavidRF on Mar 7, 2010 4:43 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah, could be

I’m kind of hoping he can stick at 2B or 3B and have a future in one of those spots, while being able to play the outfield here and there.

He hasn't played much infield in the last three years

He’s an outfielder. He’ll be one of the regular corner outfielders in Rochester. He could see some action if Delmon goes down to injury. He has a decent bat (.796 OPS with a 45/35 K/BB ratio at NB last year). As a former infielder, he’d be at least as good as Delmon in the outfield.

That sucks

It feels like all the Twins are doing is having to turn all of our infielders into outfielders.

Damning with faint praise

he’d be at least as good as Delmon in the outfield.

I know you don't like

when they have guests in the booth but it was interesting to hear Dave St. Peter. Keeps using the word optimisic re: Mauer. Also promised Gordo that he would be the guy who hears it first when (if, ugh) they sign him.

Is it me or do all the FO guys sounds the same? It’s like they are clones.
