Batter-diamondview-1b-morneau

You're looking at the DiamondView for one Justin Morneau. Over at Beyond the Boxscore, Justin Bopp has published the Minnesota Twins episode of the DiamondView series, and it looks great. It shows off how strong this team should be in terms of offense, and it also shows how fast the Twins won't be.

We'll be continuing our 2010 player previews in coming days. To get an idea of what they'll look like, here's the one I posted on LNP for Nick Punto Day.

Defense seems a little underrated

First base is always difficult to tell,

but this has more to do with range than anything else. Justin is great around the bag and he has good reflexes, but he doesn’t cover a lot of ground, either.

Also,

note that his 19 rating is also better than the positional average. Clearly this isn’t right, but it just tells you how difficult it is to rate the defense of a first baseman accurately.

Just posted to Twitter

Joe Nathan torn lig in arm, may require surgery, may limp it through season. Either way crappy, shitty, hopeless, rediculous, bag over the head news!
