It’s spring training!
Visit www.TwinsCards.com and check out "rosters" to see my collection!
at least
against RHP, though I imagine once the season rolls around, Cuddyer would be in there for Delmon.

RonGarde: Target Field is going to be exactly like Progressive Field, except you'll have a chance to die of frostbite in the middle of July
Don't know, as I don't have mlbtv or a radio station that carries the Twins
I’m watching it on an extremely laggy gameday feed which is really pissing me off, but if you would like to be aggravated by it too, the link is below.
http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2010_03_09_slnmlb_minmlb_1
I love to be aggravated!
Many thanks.
RonGarde: Target Field is going to be exactly like Progressive Field, except you'll have a chance to die of frostbite in the middle of July
Ah, now that you mention it...
not so much. Either he’s having a hell of a time at the plate, or Gameday sucks. Your pick.
RonGarde: Target Field is going to be exactly like Progressive Field, except you'll have a chance to die of frostbite in the middle of July
Oh wow.
He singled. Finally. Like it won’t do anything forever. then you get the whole inning at once afterwards.
Haha, it's stuck again.
On Rasmus this time.
RonGarde: Target Field is going to be exactly like Progressive Field, except you'll have a chance to die of frostbite in the middle of July
Possibly.
But that’s pretty irritating for people without access to a radio.
RonGarde: Target Field is going to be exactly like Progressive Field, except you'll have a chance to die of frostbite in the middle of July
I warned you before you clicked it.
It’s really irritating because it’s making want to do things at work to kill time between updates.
Like...work?
Haha, oh nooo!
RonGarde: Target Field is going to be exactly like Progressive Field, except you'll have a chance to die of frostbite in the middle of July
Oh, it's working now.
And is catching up on everything really quickly. Totally missed O-Hud and Morneau’s ABs.

correct yes
"Don't take life for granted, because tomorrow isn't promised to any of us." - Kirby Puckett
I have a feeling
that Pavano has thrown more than just 15 pitches. Or else, the Cardinal hitters are awfully impatient.
"Don't take life for granted, because tomorrow isn't promised to any of us." - Kirby Puckett
On the Nathan Front
Hopefully Slama, Neshek or whoever is new closer can show us something so we can dump Nathan….we will never win a playoff game with him closing…
That can't be right...
18 pitches, 18 strikes? No way.
RonGarde: Target Field is going to be exactly like Progressive Field, except you'll have a chance to die of frostbite in the middle of July
Pavano
has faced 16 hitters – Pavano has 3 Ks. It is not right. Gameday only posts the balls hit into play I believe. Nothing else, such as balls, or number of pitches thrown for a K etc…
"Don't take life for granted, because tomorrow isn't promised to any of us." - Kirby Puckett
Well it's showing for Wainwright
11 strikes, 8 balls. And an 18.00 ERA. Yeah, probably not right.
RonGarde: Target Field is going to be exactly like Progressive Field, except you'll have a chance to die of frostbite in the middle of July
In past years...
Gameday during preseason, treats an out as a strike, batted ball as a strike, strikeout as 3 strikes and a walk as 4 balls, I believe.
Needless to say…PAY NO ATTENTION to pitch count info.

I do believe that is Punto’s 3rd error so far.
2nd error
"Don't take life for granted, because tomorrow isn't promised to any of us." - Kirby Puckett
He also had a bobble on a DP that ended in one out the other day
Not an error, but not a good play either. Of course, Gladden still found a way to say “Nice play, Nicky flashin the leather!” about 10 times that game. I guess Punto is detailing Gladden’s bike now in addition to Gardy’s truck.

Span has two nice plays in CF.
for those who say our outfild D-fence sucks. I think our outfield D. is good and Span can handle CF just fine.

Span is fine in CF
not great, but he is fine.
"Don't take life for granted, because tomorrow isn't promised to any of us." - Kirby Puckett
Possibly
We still have very limited UZR data on Span in CF at the major league level. I expect him to fall somewhere in between “fine” and “very good”

MLB At-Bat
Need some advice. What are the big advantages of this app? Can I watch games live on my I-phone with it? Radio? Is it Gordo and Dazzle? I do gameday at work when I get the chance and know it does not update like promised.
by z-squad on Mar 9, 2010 2:43 PM EST via mobile reply actions
Yeah, gameday is normally pretty good...
I’m not sure how many people are manning the press boxes of these early pre-season games.
I'd like to hear from someone that got that app, too.
I just downloaded some apps last night and am wondering if that is worth it during the regular season.
RonGarde: Target Field is going to be exactly like Progressive Field, except you'll have a chance to die of frostbite in the middle of July
Video for Android
If this thing ends up being able to stream my mlb.tv subscription to my Droid, I will buy the heck out of it…
I *love* MLB At-Bat.
Love it. You can listen to any radio station you want — Dazzle and Gordo, of course, but also any of the other 29 teams. After each game, there are 5 to 10 video clips (usually 30 seconds or less) of the highlights of the game; by the next morning, there’s a 10 minute game recap. If you want to watch the game live and streaming, you have to upgrade; I don’t, because watching that much TV on the iPhone gives me a headache. There’s also the standard real-time pitch counts with the location of each pitch, the box score, etc. I buy it every season and it’s worth every penny.

Thanks for the recap.
Pretty sure I’m gonna download it today. :)
RonGarde: Target Field is going to be exactly like Progressive Field, except you'll have a chance to die of frostbite in the middle of July
I just got this year's version myself.
Third season running, and it gets better every time.

Are some of the reviews correct though
in saying that Spring Training coverage is pretty bad?

Quetions
I’m thinking about getting it this year:
- How is the audio quality? Are there problems sometime because of using the 3G network? How smooth is the video when watching the live games?
Pretty much that’s the only line of questioning, actually.

On those:
The audio is only limited by the iPhone speakers. I’ve had the occasional hiccup where my cell coverage isn’t great, but that’s life. I don’t have the iPhone 3G, I’m still on first-gen, so I don’t know. And since I don’t have the upgrade for live games, I can’t tell you. Sorry, not as helpful on these…
http://www.realityfish.com
Do you use the headphones? How is the audio then?

Really? That’s very odd, never heard that before…

Haven't used it for that yet, but coverage for spring training pretty much sucks anywhere.
It’s giving me the batting count and telling me who’s on the bases, so that right away beats Yahoo.
http://www.realityfish.com
Yeah, fair enough.
Thanks, though, for the input. Very much appreciated. :)
RonGarde: Target Field is going to be exactly like Progressive Field, except you'll have a chance to die of frostbite in the middle of July
I'll have to think about it
I’ll just have to take a look at the Twins schedule. I’m gonna’ be on the air myself most of the time the Twins are playing, so I’ll just have to evaluate how much use I’ll actually get out of it.

Oh...
…and this year, the audio doesn’t shut off if you navigate away from the front page of the app. Win.

That is
That is a clutch change. The old way would have really annoyed me…

Trade Glen Perkins!
For Heath Bell!!!!!!!! Glen and a prospect, we don’t need Glen! Whats he gonna be are long inning reliever? What about checking in with John Smoltz?? I think John could handle a year back in the pen and be dominant! Why weaken what I though was gonna be a top 5 bullpen!!! Sign someone and keep are middle releivers where they are!
