Can't watch this team..

I am a diehard Twins fan but this team is just unwatchable..  I don't know how many times there have been RISP with no outs (even 1st and 3rd) without anything to show for it..  Leaving so many players on base.  Please find a replacement for Harris and Butera (hopefully Morales is ready soon)..  Until I read about an improvement in this team, I'm forced to watch something else unfortunately..

Thanks for hearing my rant.

I'm also very frustrated

I’m not watching the game tonight to allow my mental health to recover a bit. Even a huge blowout against the Yanks tonight wouldn’t make me feel good about this series.

There’s nothing worse than watching my favorite team make the Yankees look even better than they are.

Really?

I can’t not watch them. Call me a masochist, dumb, whatever, but I love this team, good or bad.

I would too. I've never taken a break

What’s crazy is, they’ve actually been GOOD this year! Why the hell are we talking like they are on SouthSideSox? We are 6 games above .500!

Yeah, you don't have to be a bandwagon fan to want to watch this team

Baseball is a tough game. That’s why the best teams only win 60% of their games. If you can’t watch them lose, you’ll have a tough time watching baseball.

Right Now

I can stomach a blowout loss to the Pirates of all teams, but the Yankees are a drastically different story.

well..

Whether they win or lose is not my frustration.. Lack of basic tasks is, ground out to first (not 3rd), sacrifice fly etc. I’ve watched the Twins for 15 years, when there were good and not so good times.. This is the first year where I need a break :)

Brian

Well

If my memory serves me correctly, we were doing pretty majestically bad in the beginning of 2006. Look how that turned out.

Freaking Fair Weather Fans

Which is odd, because the Twins aren’t even doing horrible this year, just having some struggles as of late.

If you stop watching whenever it gets rough, you’ll never see the great comebacks. I’ll keep watching win or lose. I’d watch if they were the worst team in baseball. I just like baseball, and I love the Twins.

My favorite baseball book: “Can’t Anyone Here Play This Game?” Provides some good perspective. Try it.

P.S.

You’re not a die hard Twins fan if you are able to stop watching them so freaking easily.

Just saying.

You tell him myjah!

You got him good! OH BURN!!

I always loved that one.

Oh wait sorry

I forgot we’re all supposed to be negative about the twins as this site. Oh so—ohhh booo Twins, all their players have a horrible WAR 5r235324523 whatever. They suck, we’re never wining the world series, my life is over.

Am I more of a Twinkie Towner now? No? Oh…. good.

It's not his duty to watch the team

Baseball is such a long season that it is okay to take a break every once in a while for a few days without having to feel guilty about jumping off the bandwagon.

by Sheldon on May 28, 2010 12:12 AM EDT up reply actions

You should feel guilty

if you call your team “unwatchable” when they are 27-20.

If not feeling guilty, you should at least not call yourself a “die hard”

That is true

I don’t “watch” every game. Especially because I don’t have cable.

But I also don’t go on to message boards declaring I can’t watch it anymore. That’s going out there, and when you go out there, I dunno. We are free to say our thoughts.

good find

we could hammer Sheldon with his many posts from last year. Seems like a bandwagon-er to me. Rec’d for pure awesomeness!

I'm not a bandwagoner

But I also don’t watch/listen to every single inning of every single game.

What does that comment have to do with anything?

Do you have that saved in a file somewhere on your computer?

Perspective

They have had their struggles but if you can’t stomach to watch a 26-20 team you might want to stop watching baseball. This team is still on pace to be 92- 70 despite the struggles. Calling you a bandwagon fan is putting it lightly because your jumping off while they are still in the lead.

Yes, I really would like to go back to the days when we were in 3rd place at this point

watching a team go 26-20 is really awful.

You should go post this to Royals Review and see what they say

That would put things in perspective a bit…

Exactly.

One of the better records in baseball and the team is ‘unwatchable’? Good lord, these people will never be pleased.
