Delmon Young Power Surge

Delmon Young hit a home run on June 15th, giving him 8 on the year. His previous high for a season was 13 back in 2007 with Tampa Bay. When he arrived in Minnesota after the trade with Tampa, he was expected to improve upon that 13 home run total. He however hit 10 and 12 home runs. This year he is on pace for a 23 home run year. (For a 162 game season) Also what people tend to forget is that he is young. He has 1931 ABs and he turns 25 at the end of the season. Many players find a power surge around 26-31 years old when they develop their swing, and get into their prime. At this time, they are at about maximum strength. Delmon hasn't been like fellow no. 1 pick, A-Rod was at the beginning of his career, but it is too early to say that Delmon won't be a 30 hr type guy. His OPS is higher than it ever has been, and that is a good sign for two reasons: One, he hasn't been walking enough, and Two, he hasn't been much more than just a contact hitter. This raised OPS ensures he is doing one of these things. I think he has the potential to turn into a Robinson Cano -type hitter. He can hit over or close to .300 and eventually hit 25-30 homeruns per season. If he were like that, there couldn't be many complaints. (Besides his defense)

Well here is a poll:
