At least it includes the All Star Break
He might not have to miss as much time.
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. ~ Terence Mann
That's what scares me

I didn't even think about that...

He said when he comes back he'll likely wear that new helmet
He doesn’t think it looks as bad as it did…and it doesn’t. The new model is definitely better and doesn’t seem too much different from a regular helmet, looks-wise.

Hopefully it doesn't
This was taken from a post game interview of David Wright’s:

They didn't last year!

So...
You think Cuddy will pick up the slack again?

imagine where they could
have gone if Morneau had been healthy. It would have been pretty much guaranteed that, at least, the Yanks would not have swept us.

This is terrible news
This is one of only a few players (Young, Liriano, Pavano) who was really exceeding expectations on this team—and that’s saying something considering how good Morneau is in general.
Hopefully he gets back healthy soon.
This does suck.
Get well soon, Morneau.

Sucks to have lost him during the playoff run last year
Sucks to lose him now. But a quick recovery should enable him to rejoin and continue his potentially MVP season.

Did you guys see the interview yesterday?
He looked like he’d been just been KO’d. Concussions are scary. Brains are important.
This is sort of interesting from Wikipedia explaining the recovery process:
“The variety of recovery time for athletes is extremely immense. Some players are clear of symptoms in minutes while others have post concussion symptoms lasting to a year or longer. Age, prior concussion history, concurrent medical problems, and other factors all affect the recovery period. 21 There are no specific treatments for concussions. In the United States there is no medical treatment for concussion that has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration. 22 A group known as Concussion in Sport has developed a system of non-medical management and rehabilitation of concussions. CIS recommend that any athlete that begins this rehabilitation is free of any symptoms. The procedure is a stepwise program with an increase in intensity and duration, although, backtracking is necessary with the recurrence of concussion symptoms. Each step should take a minimum of one day to complete. The first step for the athlete is no activity with complete rest until all symptoms are resolved. Second, light aerobic exercises such as walking or stationary cycling are suggested. Next, sport-specific training, such as running in soccer or skating in hockey is advised. The fourth step to recovery is engaging in non-contact training drills. Fifth, after medical clearance, full contact training is allowed. If the athlete successfully completes these steps game play is permissible. 23 The most important aspect of recovering from a concussion is getting as much rest as possible and avoiding physical and mental exertion until symptoms have been cleared completely. If an athlete does not rest cognitively headaches or other symptoms may occur. 24”
