Poll: Your favorite non-Twins team.
Following up on P.Harv.Fav.'s post in Twins4life's poll about everyone's least favorite team, I thought it would be interesting to find out which teams are Twins fans' next-favorite (or least hated).
(And to meet the word-count minimum to publish this post, I need to come up with a sentence that's at least thirty-eight words long, but which hopefully doesn't just seem like pointlessly wordy, tacked-on garbage...so I guess this will be it.)

I'm sorry the Rangers are out of alphabetical order.
That’s weird, and I just have no defense for it.
I'll accept that apology
Though voting for the Rangers took a larger investment of time than it should have. Then to compound that investment, I waste even more time telling you about it.
Well, see you later.

Great, now I feel twice as guilty as I did before.
(luckily 2 * 0 = 0)
Voted Dodgers
By blood. My dad’s been a fan since he was a kid, so they’re my immediate go-to if the Twins fall short. And we can thank them additionally for Orlando Hudson!

+1
When I’m done watching the Twins, I switch over and watch the Dodgers to re-live my childhood.
I pretty much had no choice but be a Dodgers fan growing up a 10 min walk from the Stadium and I just love listening to Vin Scully call a game… I consider him the last great baseball broadcaster. There are new guys that are pretty good but the older generation that started calling games for radio and then TV just have a different way of calling a game. I think it’s a lost art.
Umm… anyways… Twins, then Dodgers for me
That's fantastic
I feel the exact same way about Scully. His phrasing and tone are just timeless, and it goes all the way back to Brooklyn, so when you hear him you just feel he’s embedded in baseball history. Like Jack Buck and Ernie Harwell, there can never be another like him.

I like
the Rays, Rockies, Rangers, Cardinals, Giants, and Phillies. Random list I know haha.
But the Rays and Rockies are my favorite non Twins teams.
The Rays are my other favorite because they remind me of the Twins. I like the Rockies because some of my family lives in Colorado, and I have watched plenty of Rockies games, which made me like them.
Rockies and Rays for me too
I came to really like the Rockies when they were making their World Series run in 2008. Then I went on vacation to the Denver area the last couple years and fell in love with the mountains and all the beautiful scenery in that area of the country. Denver also has some neat science museums if you like that sort of thing (which I do).
And I also like Tampa Bay because they are the one team in the AL East that can give the Yankees and Red Sox major competition. And they’re a really fast, athletic, and fun team to watch too.
The Cubs
They were always on WGN and I think I watched them about 10 times more than the Twins before 2000.
Same here
While I lived closest to the Twin Cities, and I’ve always been a fan of the Twins, I really started following baseball thanks to watching the Cubs all the time on WGN in the late 80s (the lack of lights at Wrigley was a big boon to me becoming a baseball fan, since I usually watched in the afternoons), and to this day Ryne Sandberg remains my favorite athlete of all time – I played second base on my tee ball and Little League teams, and it just happened that the best player on the team I watched the most was their second baseman, too.

Angels
Followed by the Rays and Rockies.

My list as well.
with the Royals tacked on when we’re not playing them. Always have to root for the underdog.
The Pavstache will own you.
Rays
Always a sucker for underdogs. Plus Garza and Bartlett!
But I think of all the SBN baseball blogs, my favorite besides here is Royals Review. Those guys are hilarious!

Rays, Braves, Angels....
Rays and Angels are just likeable – plus the former players. Braves were on TV all the time growing up and I respected the hell out of their starting pitchers. Not to mention that I thought Chipper was dreamy.
Easily the Cubs.
I grew up in Iowa (where they have their AAA affiliate), watched them a lot on WGN, went to college in Iowa City where a third of the student body is from Chicago and the surrounding area, and have been to Wrigley multiple times. Plus it’s easy to like both as they only play 3 times every 3 or 4 years, and they both have the White Sox as a hated rival.
A day the Twins and Cubs both win is a great day. If they ever played in the series? Well, let’s just say I won’t need to worry about it this year, and it’s a problem I’d love to have.
Cubs
My hometown’s minor league team is called the Cubs with the same colors and stuff.
The fact they compete against the White Sox doesn’t hurt either. :)

The Milwaukee Brewers.
I’ve lived in the area for a good amount of my childhood after my family moved from Minnesota.
San Diego and Milwaukee
I chose San Diego cause I have always loved the Padres – mostly because of the great pitching they generally have over there.
I also really like Milwaukee but I had to give the edge to the Pads.

As an all around baseball fan...
I’ll watch just about any game and like to follow and cheer for a variety of teams and players.
After the Twins, my favorite team is the Pirates.
Pretty much the only teams I actively dislike and always cheer against are the White Sox and Yankees (and maybe throw in the Phillies).
Teams I particularly like: Rockies, A’s, Reds, Orioles, Giants, Blue Jays.
Rooting For The Yankees
Is like going to Las Vegas and rooting for the house……. it just isn’t right.

they can like the Stros if they want too...
maybe they like the little train they have at the ballpark?
I actually have a good friend from Cannon Falls who moved to Houston and now roots for the home team…
I've always been a Cards fan
Maybe it was the 87 series. Or the fact that they had Bruno for a while. Or the fact that my next-door neighbor was a Cards fan and we used to talk baseball over the back fence a lot. Also, I love their fans. And it doesn’t hurt to have the best player of this generation on that team.

Padres
For reasons unknown. except that living in Fresno, CA, I have to listen to whiny SF fans, and I never want to be associated with them, and obnoxious, wannabe gangster Oakland fans, and a general dilike for all things LA, that leaves San Diego.

Rockies
Live in Colorado Springs and really like how they run their organization. Plus, Coors Field reminds me of Target Field a little bit…makes me feel at home a little when I go to a game.
