Video of Thome's walk-off, and how Nicky Punto feels
Please go watch this video right now, if not to see the homer again, for Nick Punto screaming "I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU!" at Thome, right at the 0:40 mark. You will not laugh harder this year.

When I watched this live,
I figured this was some drunk, Ambercrombie and Fitch wearing, socks under the sandals sporting college dude screaming his love at big Jimmers.
Knowing that was Punto strangely makes perfect sense. Due in large part to my caricature of his personality in my head. (Aided by Nick Punto Day-JUICEBOX JUICEBOX JUICEBOX!)
I always loved that one.
Sweet
However, the bigger homerun was Jason Kubel’s grand slam vs the Yankees. Another example of a hit and run.
Hahaha...

All I am saying is this:
The homerun tonight was not that big in terms of who we beat since we usually beat up on Chicago. Jason Kubel’s was bigger since it snapped a long losing streak to the Yankees. Regardless, I would rank this in the top five of top clutch Twins home runs with Kirby Puckett’s Game 6 walk-off at the top. Kubel’s is number two on my list with Jim Thome’s run tonight number three.
And I'm just saying
That tonight’s HR was sweet. We don’t always have to categorize and rank this stuff! The most recent walk off HOUR is always the best!
I always loved that one.

Hour=Home Run
Damn Blackberry word correction.
I always loved that one.

Even if I rank HR's
It takes nothing away from tonight’s home run. This includes the fact that Hawk was speechless at what happened.
Cram it with walnuts ugly!
That was an awesome homerun and I’m going to enjoy the hell out of it!

Time and place
I agree that Kubel’s homer off of Rivera was bigger. But now’s not the time to bring that up. Now’s the time to sit back and enjoy this. I’m particularly thrilled that the guy who hit the game winner against us in game 163 of 2008 but was rejected by the Sox, beat them. There is some justice in that.

Amen
Although Game 163 was a tough one to go through…after last night, I will never reference Thome’s homer in it in sour terms. Last night made up for it.

I agree with your reasoning
However, Kubel’s was bigger because it came against the Yankees on the road and against Mariona Riveria. Still, Jim Thome’s homerun was big because it was the first walk-off in Target Field history, it might have eliminated a possible game 163, and caused Hawk to go silent.
I was just going to ask
Who the hell was yelling that. I thought it was O-Hud at first…now I’m in full LNP-love mode.

Yeah, I thought it was an annoying, drunk fan.
Oh, LNP.

He couldn't get an ass grab in, so he had to verbalize his man love

At first I thought "how funny could saying 'I love you' be?"
Then I watched the video. I have never laughed harder in my life.
GRIT.
+8
LNP’s grittitude is the oil that keeps the mighty Twins machine rolling!
…or something to that effect.

I just have to say
This comes more from being a huge fan of baseball but are there things more beautiful than a HR swing during a night game? I probably watch the slow motion version right around the 1:00 mark about five times.
Let's be honest.
Who WASN’T at least thinking the same thing as LNP last night? I know I was listening on the radio and I was loving me some mashed taters.
Admiration yes, love no

Scary thought
I’m extremely homophobic to begin with. But he’s a big man.

He came to the White Sox in 06
The year after they won it.
He has played in two WS in his career, both with the Indians. They lost both times.
I Know I Would
If a sex change would do it, I’d consider it. I love me some Jimmers!!!

If Jimmers is a TT member
I think you just freaked him out… but he’s such a gentleman he’d probably let you down gently

Everyone on the team is embarrassed by LNP
Fan: “Oh look, the little gay guy can’t contain himself.”
Cuddyer: “Let’s just look down at the turf and pretend this is not happening.”
Mauer: “He picks a time like this to come out of the closet.”
Thome: “Little Dude, get away from me. This is just not comfortable.”
