Around SBN: NFL Players Ready To Welcome Gay Teammate

Jon Krawczynski sums it up. Kubel has a sore wrist, Fuentes has a "locked up" back, Hudson is limping, Thome has a stiff back.

Solution: Jason Repko will play both right and center field tomorrow night, and bat seventh and ninth. Ghost runners will be allowed.

Bravo, sir.

I always loved that one.

Not that crazy

Remeber Jason Tyner as DH?

by Pesky on Sep 1, 2010 9:24 AM EDT up reply actions

That was crazy

And Butera is crazier. I could see Morales as the DH, though.

Actually

Let’s look at this bright side, it’s a perfect time to have a bunch of guys banged up, right when we can bring in an instant shot of depth from the minors on Sep 1.

For what its worth

I have a sore back. Takes some “umpf” out of my cheering, which can’t be good news for our hometown team.

I’ll rest up and provide you all with updates on the hour.

I always loved that one.

I knew we should have used a pinch-cheerer for you in late innings

so you can run and tell that, run and tell that, run and tell that

Sad

I think your blogging career is over. Remember Joe Theismann? It’s a completely different situation, but exactly the same.

uffda, thank you for ruining that song.

I suppose the fault lies with Michael Stipe, not Luke in MN, but holy crap, that video takes an incredibly emotionally powerful song and reduces it to existential angst about a traffic jam.

That song should be the fan song played over the PA system at target field when Matt Capps comes in to close a game.

Yes Matt Capps recorded another win last night but how come we all felt like we were leaving the game looking like this:

Music videos weren't their strong suit.

But at least he’s not wearing a backwards orange baseball cap in that one, unlike, say:

Man, you're tough

He allowed a slap single and a wild pitch. Otherwise, he retired the Tigers’ 3-4-5 hitters in order, and rather impressively.

seriously? last night you weren't on the edge of a coronary when Capps missed Mauer's glove by three feet on that wild pitch?

No

He had a 1-2 count at that point. Two pitches later, Cabrera hit a weak grounder to first. The next batter (Peralta) was so overmatched, he could barely foul the ball off. Strike three was the same pitch that induced the weak grounder from Cabrera. .

Sure, he sat Pherhaltha right down,

but everything before that was an adventure.

OK

I guess I was nervous during the Cabrera at bat. But I’m always nervous during his at bats, no matter who is on the mound. I felt like Capps gave us the best chance of getting him out. And the wild pitch didn’t change that opinion. That was the result of trying to quick pitch and rushing. Mauer came out, told him not to pay so much attention to the runner. Two pitches later, weak grounder to first. At that point, the inning was effectively over. Jhonny had no chance.
