Daniel Osterbrock won our three player run-off for the 38th spot (adjusted after Rob Delaney was claimed by Tampa Bay) in this year's poll. Osterbrock finished with 49 of 141 votes (34%). James Beresford had 47 votes with Bobby Lanigan picking up 45.
With Michael McCardell dropped from the next round, we will add two pitchers who both were drafted in 2010. Justin Parker is a 20 year old lefty taken in the thirty-third round out of Cosumnes River College. Parker pitched 60.2 innings for the GCL Twins in twelve starts with a 6-2 record. He had the league's fifth best ERA (2.23) with a 1.30 WHIP, 42 strikeouts and 16 walks. Logan Darnell is another lefty who was the Twins sixth round pick out of the University of Kentucky. Darnell signed later in the summer, appearing in eleven games (34.2 innings) for the Elizabethton Twins. Darnell finished with an excellent 2.08 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, 32 strikeouts and only 6 walks.
Voting for this round will continue through Noon, Monday, January 31st. Please continue to leave your comments as to why you voted as you did and who you want to see added in the next rounds.
