Twinkie Town 2012 Top 50...Round 3!

Congratulations to Appy League co-MVP Eddie Rosario, who was chosen as Twinkie Town's second best prospect. Rosario picked up 26% (129) of the 485 votes cast. Aaron Hicks and Oswaldo Arcia battled for the second spot, with Hicks (75 votes) edging Arcia (71). Chris Parmelee (61) was fourth with Kyle Gibson (54) finishing out our top five.

Eleven of the players included in this round received less than two percent of the votes, thus will be dropped from the next round. Those eleven are Chris Herrmann, Terry Doyle, Scott Diamond, Adrian Salcedo, Angel Morales, Hudson Boyd, Carlos Gutierrez, Tyler Robertson, Alex Wimmers, Levi Michael and Travis Harrison. If any of those are your favorite player, don't worry as all of them will be back in future rounds.

Added to the next round will be two players coming off excellent seasons, Cole DeVries and Manuel Soliman. DeVries began his season as the organization's Pitcher of the Month for April. He ended as one Mesa's top starters in the Arizona Fall League. DeVries had a 2.28 ERA in 27.2 innings at New Britain before compiling a 4-2 record with a 3.90 ERA in 62.1 innings for AAA Rochester. He finished his year with a 2-1 record and 3.12 ERA in 26.0 innings for Mesa.

Soliman is one of the best stories in the organization, having been moved from a light hitting third baseman to a pitcher while a nineteen year old with the DSL Twins in 2009. With only one year of pitching experience under his belt he skipped the Gulf Coast League, going straight to Elizabethton in 2010. He moved up another level this year to Beloit, where he led the staff with 136.0 innings, a 7-11 record, 3.97 ERA and 120 strikeouts. Although light on mound experience, Soliman is heavy on potential with a very bright future!

The rules I have established for this process requires that David Bromberg is not eligible for selection (he was unclaimed when waived off the 40-man roster). If most of you would like him to be included, please let me know in the comments. This is your Top 50, if you want him included I will include him in the coming rounds.
