Cuddyer signs with Rockies
ESPN just reported it, appears he signed for around 3 years and $30 million. He had a good run with the Twins but in the end the Rockies offered up more money. Certainly makes the Willingham deal look good, as the Twins likely got similar production for a couple million less per a season, but I'm still sad to see him go (As I'm sure many other Twins fan are). I wish him luck with the Rockies and am glad that I was able to cheer such a good guy for his many years on the Twins.

Its not like we'll lose very much production and the extra draft pick will be nice.
But I wonder if Willingham is capable of batting cleanup? as Cuddyer did a fine job with.
I have a hunch Josh W. hit cleanup a lot for the A’s last year, but i picture him as more of a 6th or 7th hole hitter.

As a starter for the A's, he hit....
3rd – 12 times
4th – 118 times
He also had 6 PH appearances at various spots in the lineup.
I imagine he’ll hit behind Morneau, at least to start the season.

plus they'll want the "big righty" to bat highly...
if we do re-sign Kubel it actually sets up really nice:
Span/Carroll/Mauer/Morneau/Willingham/Kubel/Doumit/Valencia/Casilla
That’s 4 lefties, 2 switch hitters, and 3 righties. And Mauer/Morneau/Span all hit lefties well, and Kubel has been improving against them in the last 1-2 years.
