Updated MLB draft order for 2012 to this point; a few Type A/Type B Free Agent picks left to be determined.

Traditional Type A picks left to be awarded based on signing team (won't know draft position until then); Prince Fielder, Jimmy Rollins
Modified Type A picks left to be awarded based on signing team (ditto): Ryan Madson, Michael Cuddyer, Josh Willingham
One last note; I have included the new revenue-sharing lottery picks under the new CBA, which will be instituted this year. There will be a lottery among the 10 lowest revenue clubs and the 10 smallest market clubs for 6 picks immediately following the 1st rd (before the Type A/Type B supplemental picks) and 6 picks immediately following the 2nd rd. We just have no idea what this looks like yet or which teams are eligible/will win, so for now, I'm leaving that alone.

Hello, I was wondering if someone could leave a link or list some players that the Twins might take with the 2nd pick. I can find a million Nfl mocks but zero Mlb mocks. Thanks.
too much to be determined...
the order has leeway of about 20-30 spots still depending Free Agency.
One from Minorleagueball
http://www.minorleagueball.com/2011/11/29/2599423/extremely-early-2012-mock-draft
Obviously taking these literally at this point is silly but there are some names to think about.
There are several
Here’s one:

right...
it’s really throwing darts at a wall at this point.
2012 HS season and college season still has to be played, injuries, etc. Plus the draft order.
We can speculate on the top few picks at this point but any more than that is kind of useless right now.
If I had to hazard a guess at this point, I'd say all of the following return to their teams:
Michael Cuddyer
Kelly Johnson
Francisco Cordero
Darren Oliver (or retire)
Ortiz is accepting arbitration to return to the Red Sox, and Pujols/Rollins are inching closer towards deals with their current teams as well.
Capps
Where would he have been, 60th spot?
Really, really want Cuddyer to sign elsewhere.

for the purposes of the above, yes...
his pick would have been the 61st spot. Order of the supplemental round is determined by:
1) Teams losing Type A Free Agents, in reverse standings order from 2011. If a team loses more than 1, then their 2nd FA goes to the back of the line. Process continues with multiple teams.
2) Repeat above process with Type B’s.
So since the Cardinals and Cubs also are potentially losing 2 Type B’s, the Twins’ 2nd Type B supplemental pick would come just before the 2nd Type B supplemental pick of those teams, by record.
Who changed the title to "Rule V"?
This post is about Rule 4, the one that happens in the summer.

I was hoping
that someone caught it. I almost posted before reading the comments.

They never use Roman numerals in the CBA
Rule IV and Rule V was an invention of some geek, and it has taken on the significance of an urban legend.
"You're thinking too much. Just have fun." -- Bennie "The Jet" Rodriguez in Sandlot
that is weird...
thanks, hadn’t noticed that.
Jesse, did you or someone else edit it to that? The amateur draft is the Rule IV draft, not Rule 5, which happens tomorrow.

@TwinsGeek – Slight technicality, but it’s the Rule 5 draft, not the Rule V draft. Like the June amateur draft is the Rule 4 draft.
and arbitration decisions...
as far as I can tell, there’s only a couple of guys we haven’t heard about yet: Frank Francisco, Francisco Cordero, Darren Oliver, and Raul Ibanez
Well... We went with a SP
Terry Doyle. A 26 year-old SP from the White Sox.
Seems to have good command, 97 BB in 423 IP
A career minor league ERA of 2.94.
A career minor league WHIP of 1.14.
Was 7-5 with a 3.24 ERA at AA last year in 15 starts and 100 IP
Seems like a solid pitcher, but kinda a low ceiling. That’s fine, he seems like a guy who could make the rotation as a 4th or 5th starter in the near future.
that's what I get for making assumptions...
re: Pujols.
uggh.
Arte Moreno paid $183M for the Angels’ FRANCHISE. And he dropped down over $320M today for 2 players, one of which will actually be around 45 years old when his contract expires. He must have robbed a federal reserve. They’re going to be very good, but man, he’s crazy.
if by federal reserve you mean Rupert Murdocks pocket book then ya
150 million dollar a year tv deal is a rather nice thing to have.
first-worst-first?

ya, tv deals are insane right now...
Lakers/Dodgers are both getting similar deals too. A lot of these costs have to be covered by advertising, but you have to wonder if at some point this TV boom for sports is going to filter down to us. Are we going to be watching all pay-per-view sports in a few years?
Great job
Made a mockery of mine, really. lol
The Matt Capps decision won’t be highlighted by the media much, in all probability, but man that is one dumb decision. Not something you wish on Twins fans after the season you guys just had. Luckily you’ve got that #2 pick to look forward to.
Blogging about the Toronto Blue Jays at Bluebird Banter
thanks man...
like i said, jealous of your Jays, and a GM that actually values the draft!
Hadn't really thought about it...
and obviously their team is stacked, but the Angels will not have any draft picks in the top 100 picks of the Rule 4 draft this year.
Kind of crazy.
especially for a team that is thin on prospects
their farm system is somewhat bare now that Trout is pushing to be in the majors every day the Angels are going to be interesting in 2 or 3 years when Pujols is that much older and Hunter/Wells/Abreu all possibly retired.
first-worst-first?

Any word on what they're going to do with Trumbo?
They could probably get some good prospects for him.

Come on Oakland...
you know you want Cuddyer! :)
(Twins would have the #11 and #39 or #40 pick (depending on Madson) in the draft. Oakland would still maintain the #12 pick under the modified Type A rules.
