Twinkie Town 2011 Top 50...Prospect #46!

Tony Davis picked up the Forty-Fifth spot in this year's ranking, with 48 of 185 votes (25%). Cesar Ciurcina was second with 25 votes followed closely by Ben Tootle (24) and Pedro Guerra (21). Five others were grouped between ten and sixteen, so they will all remain for the next round.

Added to this round will be Shooter Hunt and Steve Liddle. New third base coach Steve Liddle's nephew with the same name had a huge year at Elizabethton after he was drafted out of Vanderbilt University in the fifteenth round of the 2009 draft. Liddle moved up to Beloit this year where he hit a respectable .253/.332/.398. His 15 home runs missed the team lead by one, however, his 70 runs batted in led this year's Snappers squad.

Shooter Hunt, who was a Twins first round pick in 2008, struggled at Beloit after putting up very good numbers in 19.0 innings at Elizabethton. The one question following Hunt out of college was his control, or lack thereof. The following year would be a disaster as he began at Beloit before being demoted to the GCL and eventually shut down after allowing 58 walks in 32.2 innings with more hit batters and wild pitches than scorekeepers could count. The Twins kept Hunt at Ft. Myers all last year where he was better than the previous year, however, allowed 84 walks in 67.1 innings. The encouraging part of his game is that he also struck out 79. I guess if we can include high picks who haven't pitched because of surgery, we should also give everyone a chance to vote on a former first round pick who continues to battle with control issues.

This round will remain open through 3pm, Tuesday, February 8th. My list of players I believe should be included is getting very short. Your suggestions will be appreciated. [Note: I don't know how to fix a mistake in the poll...the correct name to vote on is Brandon Roberts, not Brian Roberts as shown in the poll]
