Unofficial 2011 Twinkie Town Season Predictions

It is that time of year again as we are just over four days removed from opening day (or three if you count the six games on March 31st). With that said, it is time to make final predictions. Use this thread to make your predictions. I know you want to do so. My season picks are after the jump.

Predictions

AL East Winner: New York Yankees; I feel that the Yankees will rule the roost in the AL East because the division is simply too weak other than Boston. Sure Baltimore will likely contend but both they and Toronto are about an year away, and the Rays are in rebuilding mode.

AL Central Winner: Minnesota Twins; Had to go with the Twins here because I feel the team is just as good this year as they were last year.

AL West Winner: Texas Rangers; Have to go with the defending AL Champs on this one. I just don't see how Seattle, Anaheim LA, and Oakland can put together a competitive season.

AL Wild Card Winner: Chicago White Sox; I feel that they will have a better season than last season, and will win the Wild Card with a victory over Boston in Game 163.

NL East Winner: Philadelphia Phillies; Got to go with the flow on this one. Phillies have one of the best rotations in baseball and that was before they signed Cliff Lee.

NL Central Winner: Cincinnati Reds; They will likely be the best team in the division again though St. Louis and Milwaukee will contend.

NL West Winner: San Francisco Giants: I can honestly say that the Giants will have an easier go at the NL West title this season. The main reason for that is because both San Diego and Colorado will regress and Donnie baseball learning the ropes in LA.

NL Wild Card Winner: Atlanta Braves; New Manager, New Season, same result thanks to the loaded Phillies.

All-Star Game Winner: AL over NL with Jimmers as the MVP after hitting a pitch-hit tater.

ALCS: Minnesota over Chicago in seven; This should be a good series and I feel that it will come down to the Twins final at bat.

NLCS: Philadelphia over San Francisco in six; I predicting a replay of last year except the Phillies win simply because Cliff Lee makes a difference.

World Series: Minnesota over Philadelphia in seven; It will not be a total replay of 1991, but still a classic because we are the best team to match up against the Phillies and I can see us stealing Game Seven in any location including the Phillies Yard.

World Series MVP: Justin Morneau; I can see him helping to steal a game or two against the Phillies.

AL MVP: Jason Kubel; He's in a contract year, and why not make a career year out of it?

NL MVP: Jason Hayward; He will start hot and continue his rookie year production.

AL Rookie of the Year: Jesus Montero; The Title is his to lose.

NL Rookie of the Year: Someone with the Atlanta Braves; Why Not?

AL Manager of the Year: Ozzie Guillen; Yes he is managing the enemy, but we love him deep down inside our hearts.

NL Manager of the Year: Tony LaRussa; One last chance to honor a legend in baseball managing.

AL Cy Young: Carl Pavano; I think he can pull off an upset. The reason for his bad inning today vs the Yankees was likely because he was experimenting with a pitch or two.

NL Cy Young: Cole Hamels; You can basically insert any Phillies Pitcher in this slot.

There you have my picks. Feel free to post yours below, discuss the upcoming season, and vote in the poll below.
