Five reasons Jim Thome’s run to 600 homers isn’t getting buzz
From Big League Stew, here's the reasonable counterpoint to Skip Bayless's and Dan Graziano's ridiculous stance on Thome. Although I might add a reason 6... Thome doesn't run fast, and this includes the run to 600.

But really
Articles like that are make-news. There’s no buzz, so let’s write about there being no buzz! But really, it’s the journalists themselves who create buzz. If they want buzz, write about it as such.
I suspect the Thome story will pick up momentum as 1) he gets to 599; and 2) if the Twins are still contending when he does it, or 3) if he gets traded to a contending team.
The headline is easy to write: Gentleman Jim Reaches 600, only 1 of 2 power hitters in his generation to reach that mark without steroid taint.
