I know most of you don't need to hear this said, but I need to drop schtick and be serious for just one moment!
THAT SAID, please please please! Do not go into other teams' boards to take cheap shots after we beat them. It is cheap and classless, to be blunt. If you must engage other teams' fans, do so intelligently. And by that I mean something more well thought out than "WE BEAT YOU YOU GUYS SUCK".
SSS in particular can be a fun place to visit. But again, if you're just there to take cheap shots at their faithful, please just turn around.
Imagine every time we play the AL East fans came to our board to revel in our losses. I can tell you right now that would quickly grow more irritating than local fans tirelessly complaining about one player.

I actually just came from SSS
They are seriously in a depressed mood right now. Given that we are 5-0 against the White Sox this season, I can understand that, but the Sox are playing horrible baseball right now and major changes need to be made.

I hate Mauer, deal with it. I could even be considered a “troll” by some who consider it inappropriate to proudly voice an opinion that clashes with the majority.
However, the real “troll” is somebody who feels he has something to prove, and takes every opportunity to take a shot at somebody he doesn’t like. Also you clearly didn’t figure out what I was trying to do on my last stint at SSS you refer to. I won’t bother trying to explain it.
Seriously, though. I try to post something rational instead of my admittedly slightly irrational anti-Mauer vitriol and you still go after me. What the fuck?

And Rauch. Morales is a decent third catcher and bench player. But he doesn’t have the defense to play as often as they need a primary back-up.

You can sort of make a case for keeping Ramos and letting Mauer walk
and the thing is it would be a $30M swing instead of $23M because we’re pointlessly paying Capps $7M I think. Then again, you could make an even better case for keeping Ramos and Mauer and never getting Capps in the first place, and spending that $7 M on a couple sweet arms and having Mauer and Ramos both in the organization.
The thing is that $23 M that you save on letting Mauer walk isn’t going to instantly convert into wins. You have to invest it wisely, and that’s a difficult thing to do when you’re converting that salary into actual human beings who get hurt or have contract years or don’t live up to what someone thinks they see in them.
So, I mean, yeah would I trade Joe Mauer for a best case scenario $23 million dollar spending spree where every free agent I bought had a career season and won Minnesota the World Series? Well, maybe I would. Would I choose to be Tom Seleck’s character in Mr. Baseball if I could be anyone I wanted. Maybe. Actually, it might be pretty lame.
