Heyman: Twins to keep Nathan, let Capps go?
Over at Sports Illustrated online, Jon Heyman has a couple of Twins-related tidbits. He drops the obvious, that the organization would like to retain Michael Cuddyer, but he also says "it's believed" that, come this winter, the team will try to retain Joe Nathan while allowing Matt Capps to walk away. I don't think anyone has a problem with that. Heyman mentions that $12 million 2013 option for Nathan, which the Twins will likely buy out in order to keep him in the fold for a couple more seasons. There's been nothing new on Cuddyer since it came out that Minnesota kicked off their extension talks with a two-year, $16 million offer. Right now he's certainly worth more than that on the open market.
