Wagering in the Bullpen
It was great to get a win last night with 5 home runs and 2 players (Cuddy and Delmon) with 2 HR's apiece, but one of the best parts of watching the game was seeing the fun the team was having in the dugout. Guys were laughing, talking, high-fiving and generally enjoying themselves. When Cuddy hit his grand slam everyone looked relaxed and sure that they had this one in the bag. I wonder if they would have been quite so confident if they had over heard this conversation in the bullpen...
Alex Burnett: Hmmm...4 run lead with 5 innings to go. I could blow that lead. Easy peasy.
Phil Dumatrait: (with French accent) Au contraire, mon amis, I would not need so very long. 2 innings is all.
Matt Capps: Panzies...give me 1 inning and that lead is gone!
Jose Mijares: (Pausing to wipe jelly donut residue from his face) Amigos, I...
Entire Bullpen Together: (interrupting quickly) OK, OK,...we concede to the master...
Mijares: (shrugs) I wonder what that was all about...I was just going to ask if anyone wanted that last donut.

What's really sad about Mijares...
As soon as the Twins cut his fat ass loose, he’ll lose sixty pounds and be great again, for some other team. Grrr!
That's what frustrating
It wasn’t THAT long ago that he was extremely solid for us. It is starting to feel like ages ago though…I’ve seen enough of bad Mijares.
Should have been cheeseburger instead of donut. I can see Mijares smuggling a bag of McDonalds into the dugout or bullpen somehow.
Let loose the hogs of war!
Dogs of war..
Whatever farm animal of war, Lana...
Is that what's in the rookie backpack?!?!

Jose "Captain Cheeseburger" Mijares
I totally agree.
Joe Mauer seems to be turning into the Mark Grace of catchers.
Glen Perkins and Joe Nathan at the other end of the bullpen:
Glen: What is wrong with those guys?
Joe: Dunno …….. How many pitches is it going to take to get through the 8th tonight?
Glen: Probably less than 10. Depends on how many batters I decide to punch out.
Joe: Good. I want to get to the 9th as quickly as possible so I can get that save record so I can move on with my life.
Glen nods.
Joe: Plus I’m getting tired of smelling Jose’s burger breathe!
