Someone is worried about us

I have confidence in the twins this season to correct the disaster that was 2011. I like a lot of the moves Ryan has made and even with the reduced payroll scandal I think if key cogs return to health and production this is a team that can compete for a division title. Obviously there are some big ifs in that statement but I found this article interesting to see someone else being worried about us.

Renae R Furlong · This team is as good as the as the M and M boys and as of right now that is horrible.They could sign 10 middle of the road free agents and this club will still lose 100 games this season.

So what else is new? We have a player from Japan who hasn’t totally adjusted to MLB pitching thanks to Nick Swisher. Then we have Alexi Casilla who has had little or no playing time with anybody else. Then we add in the injuries and finally, a horrific situation in Rochester which the Twins found out about because of Justin Morneau. The result: we were lucky to lose 99 games this past season.

However, this is 2012 and we will have players step up this season. That was always the case and will be in the future. Heck, I would include Ben Revere in a example where he caused the team to be noticed due to his fall-down triple. Then there is Michael Cuddyer playing ok first base when Justin Morneau went down with injuries. We will see more examples in 2012.

Except for the title

“Twins could be threat to Tigers in AL Central,” the rest of the story is about there not being much change from 2011 at all. I don’t think Tiger fans consider us their biggest threat anymore.
