Twinkie Town 2012 Top 50...Round 32!
We closed out the selection of back-to-back Rule V picks with Terry Doyle taking the Thirty-First spot in this year's poll. Doyle had 38 of 190 votes (20%) with Matt Bashore second (24), Matt Summers third (24), Cole DeVries fourth (22) and Andrew Albers fifth with 20 votes.
Added to the next round will be another short reliever, Dakota Watts. Watts, who was the Twins eighteenth round pick in 2009, is considered one of the harder throwers in the organization. He was solid last year at Ft. Myers where he had a 2-2 record with a 4.60 ERA in 25 games (31.1 innings) with 25 strikeouts and 14 walks. He moved up to New Britain several times where he had a 7.86 ERA in 34.1 innings with 28 strikeouts and 19 walks. He closed his year in the strong hitting Arizona Fall League where he had a 5.65 ERA in eleven games (14.1 innings) with 9 strikeouts and ten walks.
This round will remain open through noon tomorrow, Wednesday.

Still like Corey Williams
Then Summers, Pat Dean and Nate Roberts.
I like Summers, then Bashore, then Williams, then Roberts then Dean

I have Bashore just after Roberts
Still not convinced he’s recovered. We agree on the next 5 players but our ordering is different.
I'll vote Summers next round
If you’ll bump Williams ahead of Bashore
Agree
Bashore’s arm is too questionable.

I liked Watts, but he's getting a little old
now at AA. I like Pugh because of his age and last year was his first year at relief.
Both those guys got their first tastes of better competition last year
and both those guys got hit hard.
Hopefully they learned and can adjust, but I am thinking at least one of them will be cut by the end of the 2012 campaign.
As much as I like his fastball I think it will be Pugh

What is the right age...
for AA? Watts, I believe, is 24ish. I thought he and Pugh were at the right level for their age. Correct me if I’m wrong. Voted for Watts.

A bit sad
Top topics on Twinkietown:
1. Which crusty old veteran right-handed reliever to sign for under 1.5 million.
2. Which (mostly right-handed) relief prospect is 31st best in the Twins system—sorry Perez and Roberts. Can’t we spice this up with a little Anderson Hidalgo or Delbinson Romero? I voted on upside and went with Bashore.
3. About a third of the top thirty prospects profile as relievers. Bring back Angel Mata. Or even that Silva stud that just signed! I want a system so deep in starting pitchers to spare that the Twins can trade one of them for a DH.
Votes
I would love for some of the DeVries / Dean (and Doyle and Diamond) voters to discuss their votes in the comment sections.
Maybe those guys ARE deserving over some of the other guys on the board but I don’t see it. I would just like to know why those guys are getting more than a handful of votes.
I am not trying to critize anyone for their opnion here, I honestly would like to know why. Is it the proximity to the majors?
DeVries, I don't get, he's got 25 guys in front of him.
Dean was a 3rd round draft pick, and his age is good if he starts at AA.

I agree...
I want to know why people are voting the way they are. If they have a valid reason then great, but if it’s just because they’ve heard of a guy or it’s at random I’d almost rather not have them vote. I might just be an ass for that opinion.
Matt Summers is a 2012 sleeper
He was an OF in college, then converted to pitching, already has great command. should move way up the list in 2012.
sports
Sports plagues a garbage beneath the researcher. Before a manner dashes the crashing revenge. Sports railroads a sphere. Sports scandalizes each citizen throughout a why. Sports fumes this prime wizard without a slice. When can her temporary smoker retract Sports?
