Makes you question their credibility
But those projected rotations are pretty silly anyway, especially three years away. If that is the starting lineup at the end of the 2015 season I’d be happy—Sano still has a ways to go.
I think it is far more likely that Alex Wimmers and a college pitcher yet to be drafted will be in the rotation than Liriano or even Baker, and certainly Duensing.
I'm aware of that
But still. In 3 years Brian Duensing will be the 3rd best SP that the organization produced? That is scary.
Jack Morris ________
Gibson should be better
and they could always draft a starter or two this year or in 2013 that would be ready by 2015.
I agree that it would be scary if Duensing were the third best option. I’m trying to convince myself that any scenario where he is a starter is unlikely.
Biggest surprises: Duensing and Benson in that order
Duensing is not even a starter this year. If he becomes a starter, it will be with another team. Benson rated number 2? Not with his strike zone judgement.
I’m also mildly surprised Lehmann is the best defensive catcher, considering he has less than a full season of catching in his career. I’m not as surprised by Dozier. He’s very sure handed, if a touch range challenged.

"...less than a full season of catching in his career."
You might be thinking of Chris Herrmann, not Danny Lehmann.
make me wonder why Lehman is not
the starter at Rochester or Minnesota, if he’s the best defensibly? I’m not sure I buy this one, seem the twins shuffle him around and use him as a back up at AAA and AA.

I've said before that I'd rather have him than Butera
He’s a better defender, IMO and a much better hitter. He should be starting at Rochester, with Hermann starting at New Britain.

why did we sign 2 other catchers?
just to get through S.T.?

I'd agree i would rate our catchers as Follows:
1. Mauer
2. Towles
3. Herrmann
4. Butera
5. Lehmann
6. Rams (possibly DH/1B type instead)
7. Jair Fernandez
8. Miguel de los Santos (if you think Butera can’t hitt look at this guy)

Rohling was invited to camp, not Rams?
maybe they want Rams at Minor League Camp as top catcher. Also, Fernandez and Miguel took F.A. and signed else where.

I would rate Lehmann ahead of Butera

I wonder if there will be any true battles this spring?
If any prospects have a chance. Or if it will be decided again before ST evens starts.
"I couldn't do that. Could you do that? Why can they do it? Who are those guys?"
I see it as being decided before.
The only battles come from the last 2 relief pitchers and maybe last bench player. Benson and Parmelee will stay down. I wounder if Butters job in up for grabs?

I think a hot spring might get Parmalee the DH role
just a thought… Hoping Butera isn’t on the 25 man too… There’s probably an RP or two up for grabs as well.
