AL Central Farm System Rankings according to Minor League Ball's John Sickles

  1. Kansas City Royals: No real surprise, they are ranked 6th overall
  2. Minnesota Twins: Rochester does have some questions, but OK in lower leagues
  3. Detroit Tigers
  4. Cleveland Indians
  5. Chicago White Sox

WTF

Sickles does not say “solid in lower leagues”

He says “middle of the pack” and does not mention Rochester.

by clutterheart on Jan 24, 2012 6:33 AM EST via mobile reply actions

It's exactly what he said!
17) Minnesota Twins: Another middle of the pack organization, fairly balanced between hitting and pitching, some potential regulars with several solid role players.

Well, no, but almost…kind of…in a way…

Well, the both the words “some” and “solid” are there, just not in any way, shape, or form that Jessy S quoted them, other than that…

I changed it

However, i was just summarizing what he said. I am pretty sure Roger13, Seth Speaks, and/or Aaron Gleeman would agree with my original wording. At least we aren’t in the same position as Cleveland or the White Sox.

That's still not what SickELs said.

Unless you’re quoting a completely different article than the one you linked to.

Right

The article cited is terse. But several analysts including Sickels have said elsewhere that the Twins system could leap up this year depending on the performances of the guys at E-Town who will be in Beloit, like Rosario, Sano, Williams, and all those pitchers. The Appy League is not well regarded as an indicator of talent. A lot of prospects crush the ball there and fail to do anything close to that in full-season ball.

I LOL'd.

I was torn, too.

It’s ABSOLUTELY NOT what the link says.

But it’s kind of sort of a fair assessment of where most of the strength of the org. lies according to Sickels: http://www.minorleagueball.com/2011/10/9/2479433/minnesota-twins-top-20-prospects-for-2012

Still, it’s a totally unfair characterization of the one sentence given in the linked-to article.

Jessy S. Just ignores the peanut gallery.
