Mauer Looks Forward to Healthy Spring
I've been saying this stuff all winter, but it's worth repeating. Having Joe Mauer healthy going into spring training is huge.

can't wait either..... I bet Mauer will be a .300/ 380 / 490 type of hitter this year for almost a .900 OPS

I will take that as a baseline
Tho as long as he is back to form, he might even bat higher (tho probably with less power)

You can do that?!
We should tell LEN III that he can quote Mauer. This is big.

When healthy, he's among the best of the best.

Answers one question from last year anyway
“Looking back on it, there’s a lot of things that I think we could have done differently, or wish we would have done differently, but it happened and [I’m] just trying to move forward.
“I mean, if we knew I was going to have surgery, we would have had it right after the year. But you know, you have to try and figure out if you need surgery, and … we were making the best decision at the time and we thought we could rehab it and avoid surgery.”

He's classy about it
They advised him to rehab and not have surgery. It was bad advice. He doesn’t blame them though. He takes the blame for listening to them.

Do not feed the troll
Don’t click on the J— S——- article
He is such a tool

+1
Where does he get off? All over his column, apparently.

Looks like he's off for the summer
Mauer is his meal ticket. He can pre-write those for weeks when he doesn’t feel like writing a real column.
Him and Ruesse
Remember the Reusse article went he went to a game, begging people in the stands to rip on Mauer, and booed him, and quoting himself when he couldn’t find anyone who shared his negative views?
These guys dont seem to get what a huge competitive advantage it is having a catcher who is your best hitter. That advantage is a huge part of the Twins playoff apearances over the past decade.

You mean P----- R----?
Do not use their names. Do not click on the articles. It’s the only way to put an end to a toddler with a tantrum.
You are trying to use reason...
That’s not going to work. Its gotten to the point where they just make stuff up. This week, he blames Mauer’s attitude (not his money) for Cuddyer and Nathan leaving. He also blamed Mauer for Revere’s upbeat personality (with the team losing, Mauer should have put a stop to that).
Even worse, when someone in the comment section actually responds with something rational like “I understand with a high salary that expectations go up, but not much of what you write makes sense”, then a flood of angry-fan commenters shoot that poster down with things like “he’s a writer for the strib, I think he knows more than you!”.
So, there’s nothing sensical about this. These articles are essentially pre-written for the whole year already. J—- S—- can go up north and relax in a cabin for the rest of the summer.
Where he can Google himself to his heart's content
Interested, interested, interested, very interested, very very interested, … then he suddenly lost interest.

I never read it...
but reading this makes me want to read them. It sounds hilariously bizarre.

If you remain detached and read it like the ravings of a troll perhaps
… but DJL is right, you don’t want to give him the satisfaction of upping his page views. I had already read it before this thread… I was just trying to show “AM” that these columns completely ignore reality. Its real boring… nothing new… he’s just trolling for re-tweets from the angry-fans.
