Dropped from the next round will be Daniel Santana (4) and Jose Gonzalez (2). Added will be relievers Matt Schuld and Daniel Turpen and third baseman Rory Rhodes. Schuld was very effective at Ft. Myers where he was 4-1 with a 3.99 ERA in 70.0 innings. He moved up to AA where he wasn't as effective with a 2-2 record, 8.12 ERA, 27 strikeouts and 21 walks in 41.0 innings. Turpen, the pitcher the Twins received in the Kevin Slowey trade, was 2-4 with a 4.83 ERA in 59.2 innings for Tulsa (AA). He struck out 33 batters while walking 35. Rhodes is a power hitter known for massive batting practice bombs. The young Aussie hasn't done it during games yet, hitting only two home runs last year in Elizabethton where he hit .261/.751 OPS in 157 at bats.
This round will remain open through noon Sunday. On Monday we will begin the first of four preliminary rounds with the runoff voting for prospect number 50 Friday.
