Twins 5, Yankees 1: Home Run Extravaganza!

This really should be a caption contest photo.

In the battle to end all battles, the Twins took down the Yankees on Sunday afternoon. As a result, the Twins have been deemed to be the better team, going back to the historical beginnings of modern baseball and also going forward to the end of time. New York's World Series rings mean nothing because of today.

The Enabler of the Game award goes to Nick Blackburn, who had a great three innings in his Grapefruit League debut. While I realize his upside has been reached, I still think that for 200 innings he's a fine pitcher for the back end of the rotation. This afternoon he gave up three hits and no runs in three innings, striking out one and not issuing a walk.

Offense came off the bats of Danny Valencia, Joe Benson and Mike Hollimon, who all homered. It was Valencia's second sky jack in as many days, which is great to see, and Hollimon has no chance of making the roster out of spring training, but Rhett Bollinger offered this tidbit on Benson:

It marked his first homer in quite some time, as he didn’t hit any as a September callup or during his time in the Venezuela in the offseason.
