Apologies for the late recap, a couple things came up earlier today!
The Twins made the trip to Sarasota today to take on Baltimore and well...I guess we should be happy there was no video of the inning in which Bulger pitched. In the 7 batters he faced, Bulger walked one, hit one, and allowed four hits, giving the O's 4 quick runs. Fortunately (or unfortunately, I suppose, depending on how you look at things), Bulger was not the only Twin having issues today, but it's certainly been a rough spring for the former Diamondback.
Other notes from today's game after the jump...
*Players that were 0-fer today (with at least 2 at-bats): Tsuyoshi Nishioka (0-3), Josh Willingham (0-2), Ben Revere (0-2), Pedro Florimon (0-2), and Sean Burroughs (0-3). At least 3 of those players are likely to be in the starting lineup on Opening Day.
*Carl Pavano pitched 3 innings today. His line: 6 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 SO. The number of hits is concerning for only three innings, but a commenter mentioned in the game thread that most of the hits were bloop singles, so perhaps with some decent defense, those numbers will be better. What I'm liking most about Pavs this spring is the limited walks.
*As previously mentioned, Bulger kind of...well, sucked today. His spring training ERA is now 81.00. Yeah, you read that correctly.
*Alex Burnett also pitched an inning today, giving up 2 hits and 2 walks.
Hopefully we'll see a Twins win tomorrow! Enjoy the rest of the week, folks.
