This is basically based on ZIPS projections, so you can take it for whatever it's worth. Part of what it loves about our starters is Liam Hendricks, and I can tell you with some confidence that nothing is more meaningless than projections for rookie starters. That said, I didn't really even consider the possibility that our starters might be above average until the moment I saw that article. Now I have, and I'm a happier man.
But anyway--and thank the Sacred Heavens Above they haven't ranked the bullpens yet--this is a portrait of an entirely decent ball club. If nothing else, it's a reminder of all the other losers who the other teams are throwing out there. Holy hell I can't wait until the Astros are in the AL. If you were thinking of angling for the #1 pick in the 2013 draft, don't even dream of it, the Astros will Mess. You. Up.
