Last Week

• The Twins got into the win column by getting the bats moving against the Angels, taking two of three. Unfortunately, the bats went silent over the weekend against Texas, as the team scored six runs in three games and were swept. Minnesota ended the six-game homestand with just two wins - for the homestand and for the season.
• Scott Baker announced he was choosing to have surgery on an elbow tendon, ending his 2012 season before it began.
• Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau hit home runs in the same game at Target Field for the first time ever.
• The Twins claimed outfielder Clete Thomas on waivers, and sent Ben Revere to Rochester, presumably so that Thomas can serve as a backup and Revere can play every day.
• Nick Blackburn left a game early with stiffness in his throwing shoulder, though MRIs were negative.

This Week's Schedule

The Twins make their first extended road trip of the season, heading to American League East powerhouses New York and Tampa Bay for four with the Yankees and three with the Rays. It is the Twins' only trip to either city this year.

Keep an eye on: Carl Pavano, who is making just his second start in New York since his acrimonious Yankees tenure, and his first start there since early 2009.
