Hello everyone, new member here. As a Twins fan my whole life, I am glad to have found this community, However, this may not be the best time be a Twins fan. Haha. But still, doesn't mean that I am going to jump ship though. So anyways, I can sum up the current state of the Twins organization in two words.
There are holes everywhere throughout the Twins 25 man roster, specifically the pitching staff. I look at this pitching staff and I can't help but shake my head. This is the worst pitching staff I have ever seen. in my entire life. When I say worst ever I mean every team in baseball too. So when I say it's time, I mean the clock has run out on the Twins as contenders, and there is no amount of patchwork that can be done or should be done. What the Twins were from 2001-2010, they're not anymore. Several things have led to this. There were quite a few young players that didn't pan out quite like they should. Scott Baker, Danny Valencia, Alexi Casilla, just to name a few. There was also several devastating injuries- Fransisco Liriano, Joe Nathan, and Justin Morneau, that derailed what the Twins were trying to build. The third main reason was some of the decisions of former GM Bill Smith. They are going to regret the Wilson Ramos trade for a long, LONG, time. To sum it all up, it's time to tear it down, and rebuild it. Terry Ryan should call up the other 29 GM's and say, "you see someone you like who you think could help you? Make an offer". They could also use(And this will start this June) a couple of years of high draft picks as well as aggressive international market signings. This may hurt them in the short term, but in the long term they will benefit from blowing this up now rather than continuing on in a hopeless battle.
